In every sense of the word, I would like to give Titanic a high score
In every sense of the word, I would like to give Titanic a high score The male and female protagonists are too beautiful, luxurious props, scenes, music, all of them are top-notch aesthetics, and from the five senses alone, you can get the ultimate enjoyment.

The first time I watched this film was when I was in middle school, and I was simply shocked by the tragic ending and cried to death.

It wasn't until many years later that I gradually realised that there was a deeper meaning behind a mirror-like encounter.

This is not a simple love story.

ROSE is desperate to give up, but at the last moment, she suddenly realises that what jack wants most is for her to have freedom and the right to arrange her own life.

It's really a really great film.

A Timeless Masterpiece of Tragic Romance.
"Titanic" is not just a movie; it's an experience that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Directed by the legendary James Cameron, this epic romantic film is a masterpiece of the 20th century. From breathtaking cinematography to impeccable storytelling, every aspect of the film is outstanding.

One of the most striking elements is the cinematography, which captures the beauty and grandeur of the Titanic like never before. James Cameron's direction brings the tragic romance between Jack and Rose to life in a way that is both captivating and heart-wrenching.

The visual effects, color grading, editing, art direction, set decoration, costume design, and makeup are all top-notch, creating a world that feels incredibly real and immersive. The attention to detail is remarkable, transporting viewers back in time to the fateful voyage of the Titanic.

A major highlight of the film is the mesmerizing score by James Horner, which perfectly complements the drama and romance unfolding on screen. The performances by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are nothing short of extraordinary, capturing the depth of emotion and passion of their characters.

"Titanic" is a timeless masterpiece that will continue to resonate with audiences for generations to come. It's a testament to the power of love and the human spirit, reminding us of the enduring legacy of the Titanic tragedy. Watch this film at least once in your lifetime; it's an experience you'll never forget.

    Like greeting an old friend
No matter how many times I watch this it's like being with an old friend. Even if it's on Television I can tune in at any point and enjoy the ride.

The acting, casting and costumes are implacable. Every inch of set design has been thought out (we will excuse the shots of the upper deck on the bow during the sunset shots).

The film doesn't age and I would despise a remake. All aspects that Cameron has put in place just work. The sumptuous legendary Titanic with all its complex characters and intertwining stories of class struggle and inequality whilst precariously depicting real people in a real tragic episode. The soundtrack alone is hauntingly beautiful and conjures up images from the film in one's head wherever they may be.

Titanic will forever linger in the mind and as every April comes around the films tragedy is paralleled by the reality of the sinking. A beautiful piece of celluloid that has enriched my life and makes me weep each and everytime I see it (at least 4 times a year).

    Movie Limps to Port
I'm giving this movie a slightly lower than overall rating due to some deficiencies that cause it to limp to port. The first is the beginning of the movie where we see the salvage ship and manned submersible. To me this was a bit of a yawn. I would rather have seen ghostly camera views of the ship as it lies on the ocean floor and then zooming in for close up tour with no submersible tech and high five yakking of the salvage crew. The movie could then have simply transported the viewer back in time to the shipyard in Ireland back in the day showing the ship being finished and describing its design.

Another big problem was the older Rose who recounted the story on the salvage ship did not look 101 years old! She looked about 84 years old and would have been but a baby at the time of the Titanic. In no way would she have been able to be transported by helicopter to the salvage ship to tell the story. To me, this mistake sunk the movie at the outset because it is the old lady that gives one a sense of how long ago the ship sank. So if Rose was 16 years old at that time, this movie would have been appropriate for the year 1981, not 1997. In 1997, the older Rose should have been in a nursing home in a wheelchair and being help along to tell the story. The movie should also have panned the graveyards at the beginning to give an appreciation of the victims.

Leo and Kate put in a good performance in the movie, and the cast was generally excellent, but to me Brad Pitt would have been a far more credible choice for Jack Dawson as a dashing, adventure-seeking lad. Frankly, Kate looked servant class so I had more of a problem imaging her as upper class of that era. She certainly would not have been fetching enough for a Brad Pitt as Dawson. So for me that was a bit of an issue.

The special effects may have been state of the art for 1997, but to me I never felt like I was on the ship. There was no mist spray in the face or rain falling on the deck. The dolphins did not do it for me and I don't think they can survive in cold water just above freezing like Dawson described it. So the elements of nature were never really brought into the movie until the end. At that point it is too late to draw the viewer into the movie and the viewer is asked to believe all that happens then. In summary, the movie should have made sure the viewer was on the ship long before the sinking.

The movie theme song, which evoked Irish folk music, did not give the viewer any other connection to Ireland. It should have started with the ship being built at the Harland yard.

There should also have been a little more character development of the famous people on the ship explaining how they boarded it other than just the fictional character portrayed by Leo.

    eww cuties
I really did like this movie in most of its aspects other than its romance scenes. I really just don't like any romance so i would have to say I'm biased when I review this movie. The part I like the most is the time ahead were they are reviewing the girl that survived and seeing how old and long ago the tragedy of the titanic was. Also the fact they dived to the Titanic to find any they can. When they do they find the girls amulet Leonardo gave her. The other thing I really like about this movie is when the ship is sinking is the captain of the ship stays on the ship. I think he does this either to sink with the ship or he feels so much guilt for the ship sinking.9/10.

    Wow
OK, so somehow I've managed to get to the age of 27 never having seen Titanic. Sure I know people love it, it won all the Oscars, it's constantly talked about, but I just kept thinking "can it really be that good, surely it's over-hyped"... reader, it really is that good.

The love story between Jack and Rose is just so engaging. So much so I was willing the ship not to sink so I could watch more of it. The chemistry between DiCaprio and Winslet is spot on and I was so drawn in by the story they were telling. Just wonderful.

Then there's the actual sinking of the Titanic which is expertly retold by Cameron. You feel every moment of dread and panic. It makes for a harrowing and powerful watch and also a visual spectacle.

The set design and costume etc are all superb. You totally feel like you are on the ship and thrust into the time period.

Also, considering it is over three hours long, James Cameron manages to make it fly by. I must admit the length of the film always kind of put me off watching it but rest assured it does not feel long at all, such is the technical mastery and the brilliant story.

    Fantastic score too.

Titanic is one of those films where, if like me you have put off watching it, you should remedy that as soon as possible. You will not be disappointed.
