chris_edwards7 - 3 May 2024 Did they really need all of these changes? The premise of this movie could work. Jordan isn't my pick for the lead. Although acted very well by JTS, they kinda gloss over that Greer is the first ever female seal. Not a big accomplishment at all.
A lot of the night scenes were ridiculously dark, lighting wise. The campy tropes are a little too much for me too. "But I didn't tell you about that part of the mission". Come on. You don't need to force feed us.
My first thought was that this was going to be a great spy caper with some badass action scenes, but instead it's one of the most boring spy movies I've scene.
If it were me. I'd watch this on a day when you have a massive hangover and you just want something on.
JayWolfgramm - 18 November 2023 Without Remembering The problem with movies based off Tom Clancy's work, is similar to movies based on Jane Austen. So many franchises have taken inspiration from these authors that by the time the original is adapted, it feels derivative of a dozen other films that have done the same thing. Jane Austen for romantic comedies, and Tom Clancy for political thrillers. So, watching "Without Remorse" the story can't help but feel familiar, but that is because there have been 30 other films and movies that follow this same plot.
Despite the story being cliched, Michael B. Jordan still does an excellent job in the lead, the action is well helmed and there are still a couple things the film does to make it stand out. It just doesn't have many of those moments.
martbuffet - 10 June 2023 Sorry Tom I feel really sorry for Tom Clancy.
The novel is really good but here they decided to sit on all good aspects of it and to turn it into a typical ''seen a million time''action movie. Scenario is really poor: I knew the end when I reached half of the movie, actors aren't really motivated (exception of Michael B Jordan which is more or less correct), action scenes are messy and also highly unrealistic. But really guys, please ask a salary refund to the scenario team.
I am really afraid of what they are going to do with Rainbow six which is my favorite novel from Tom Clancy...
Anyway bad grade for this movie. I should have had spent my time doing the laundry instead.
downoneup - 26 October 2022 Wait, what? So I was confused on watching this???
If a movie is named "Tom Clancy's Without Remorse" should it at least have a slight resemblance to the novel?
I'm sure Producers, Directors, Screnwriters, Actors etc., were paid well. Could it have at least have been suggested that
ANY of them read the book?
Three things, aside from the title, in common with the book:
1 John
2: Kelly
3: Clark
The actual novel, " Without Remorse" was a departure from his earlier novels. The characterization and plot development was such, that you are lured into feeling an attachment to the characters. You feel the raw emotion, the desire for vengeance, the RAGE that protagonist experiences. Even then, you are shocked by the brutality that ensues.
After that novel, for better or worse you know, really KNOW, who John Clark is, when he shows up in later novels.
Too bad they did not make a movie about that Character/Novel.
bairdt-85574 - 21 August 2022 Why? A perfectly good novel's name is ripped off and put on a D grade action flick.
Not sure why this happened as the novel had a movie worthy plot already.
Massively disappointing on all levels.
Someone needs to start making this kind of wasting of people's time (not to mention shamelessly co-opting both the novel's title and the author's name) a criminal offense with cast and crew serving jail time or being banned from making movies for a period of time.
rbrum-34017 - 21 July 2022 Horrendous Acting First of All Aside from the acting of the lead character, the story, or at least the way it's presented on the screen, is as predictable as a high school sophomore's first effort at story-telling.
