Lord_Aey - 20 April 2023 Just do a British accent Denzel! It's actually pretty good but it's so transparent when they just hire someone for celebrity but they can't fulfil the basic requirement of a Shakespearean adaptation. It reminds me of Dune, why didn't Paul have a British accent. You know why lol. FreakNumberOne - 2 August 2022 Like listening to people have a conversation on the phone The cast deliver their lines so nonchalantly and with so little emphasis, It's as though the dialogue means nothing to them. So much emphasis seems to be placed on making the prose sound like natural dialog, but why? They seem to just recite words as they walk through the stylish but hollow production. Visually beautiful and totally forgettable.
cliftonofun - 24 April 2022 Here to impress This film was spectacular in so many ways. The cinematography seemed to capture every last flicker of light and shadow. The sounds enveloped the viewer just like the enveloped the mad tyrant king. The central performances were impossible not to watch (especially Denzel). That said, it seemed like this adaptation was more interested in impressing than sucking you in. So, in the end, this version of Shakespeare feels just a little stuffy, but beautiful all the same.
louischamoun-1 - 26 March 2022 Waste of time and money I usually love Washington's acting, but this was just terrible. You're supposed to convey Shakespeare in a way the animates the text and this was flat.
