Not as good as I thought (Same as the 1st movie)
"Terrifier 2" had potential, but ultimately fell short. Its only redeeming quality was the ample gore and blood, which may appeal to some horror fans. However, the positives end there. The acting was quite poor, with performances that seemed stiff and unconvincing. The special effects were mediocre at best, failing to create the desired impact. The plot was full of illogical twists, making the story difficult to follow and less engaging. The pacing of the movie was inconsistent, with abrupt shifts between scenes that further detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the sound balance was off, with some scenes being excessively loud and others too quiet, making it hard to stay engaged. The atmosphere, crucial for a horror film, was lacking, and the scares were predictable and uninspired. Overall, "Terrifier 2" did not deliver a cohesive or thrilling horror experience, leaving much to be desired in terms of quality and execution.

Gory, fun movie.I just wish they explained the storyline better.
Everything was there, it felt like a good movie. The first one was just boring, nothing good about it. This one howeever was much better. I realy wanted more explenantion and the storyline of the clown, maybie seeing his past or something simular. I liked the new characters which made the movie seem so much fuller an overall better. In my oppinion the movie wasnt too long... I thing they opened up space for the third movie which I love. You can def. See that the main point of theese tipe of movies are kills and gore so don't expect anything far from that. Overall I feel like they made a pretty good movie considering they had a pretty low buget...so that's 9 stars.

    better than the original
5.9/10 it is much better than the original because: its story (the first one didn't even have a good story) is good, it is not as solid, but it works. The effects are a little better than the original, you can still see how fake it is.

The performances are bad, better than in the first, but they are not good, the only one I liked was Lauren LaVera (Sienna Shaw) and of course Art the clown.

The bad thing, as I said, is the effects and performances, but better than the original.

The brutality of the film far exceeds the first, the part where Art puts salt into Allie's body left me very disgusted.

In general everything improved for a film that had such a bad first installment, in the end the film is good.

    Did Rob Zombie make this?
I feel terrible giving this a bad rating, I loved the first film and there was a good portion of this movie that was just as fun or better. However, this is a slasher movie. They should run about 90 minutes. This ran well over two hours and it was mainly due to a bunch of unnecessary symbolism and half baked lore. Look, I get adding lore. It's needed for a franchise, but everything they added left major plot holes or raised questions. The movie really got away from itself for about fifty minutes and went down a rabbit hole of bad storytelling. I honestly felt at a point I was watching Rob Zombies Halloween 2 because of how much of a mess this movie became.

Looking Forward To A 3rd Movie
I understand now why people thought that this movie was better than the first one. It has more story, more gore and violence, more character development and more run time.

We begin where we left off with Art killing the morgue doctor and then going to the laundromat to do his washing because his costume is all bloody and dirty. Makes sense if you ask me.

There he sees a weird demon looking girl, she seems to be somehow related to what Art is which I assume is a demonic entity. She is literally the creepiest thing of this movie.

We get introduced to Sienna and Jonathan (brother and sister) and their mother who honestly becomes worse and worse as the movie progresses. She is pretty b*tchy and very unlikable.

I must make a point of Jonathan's acting; it is so unbearably bad. The kid only has one reaction and expression for the entire movie so when he is trying to act next to Sienna the difference is like night and day.

We slowly find out that Sienna's dad was somehow aware of what Art did in the first movie and that it was the future he was seeing.

So for Halloween Sienna is making her own costume that's based off the character her dad created, she was also gifted a blade of a sort that has a major significance in the story. Apparently, Sienna is the only one who can stop Art, this doesn't get explained. I think it would've worked better if we took that entire plot out and just made Sienna be smart and resourceful that's why she manages to defeat Art, not because of some character she is destined to become.

We meet Sienna's two friends; Allie and Brooke. Brooke seems like a typical b*tch and Allie is nice enough but something about her just felt weird. Maybe it's just how soft spoken she is but she just seemed devoid of any personality.

My favorite scene is when Sienna is shopping and Art tries on a variety of wacky sunglasses behind her and it's just brilliant. The way that he mimes all the expressions is chefs' kiss.

This movie is largely known by the infamous bedroom scene where Art scalps and mutilates Annie. It is so graphic that apparently some people were sick or passed out in the cinema while watching. I guess it was intensely gruesome however I wouldn't justify passing out over it. It appears I'm having the same issue here that I had in the first movie. Apparently in this universe bones don't exist in human bodies because if they did, those scenes wouldn't occur.

Overall this wasn't bad but wasn't amazing. Definitely better than the first movie. The lore of the characters could've been explained better or differently and there are still issues with small things and the logic of some scenes. I liked Sienna as the main character, she was pretty badass and quite likable. She gives me the final girl vibes; the likes of Laurie from Halloween and Sidney from Scream.

I'm interested to see what they do next.

Overlong bloated and it's just about the gore
So where to start. Art is alive, regenerated, talking to a zombie girl who dresses like him with glowing eyes (giving the creepiest scene in the film) and decides to go after a family who have some sort of supernatural connection to him.

Positives - the three main actors are great, entertaining, believable and superb. They make this film a 6 rather than much much lower

Negatives - Leone really needs a script editor, the story is bloated, there are at least an hour of unnecessary boring scenes and they add nothing to the main tale.

The runtime is absurd, the finale and the final battle should be 10 minutes but ends up being 35 at least. Not sure why.

Art is sadistic and vicious and some of the kills are just brutal for brutality sake. Yes the death of the friend character is gory but I didn't buy into it, it was too much for a side character and just seemed over the top

All in all Terrifier as a series has a good enough villain although Art is in danger of just being a psychotic Terminator baddie who just doesn't die. But the first and second films suffer from being all about the gore. The hype has not done any good.

Gore alone isn't enough for a movie of any size.

Disappointed by this film and not really sure what the point would be of more of the same with a threeequel.

Long, drawn out, boring film reviewed by an AI
This review was written by ChatGPT, it did a pretty damn good job at expressing just how bad the film was, i'm actually impressed.

"Terrifier 2 was an absolute disaster of a movie. The acting was wooden, the plot was nonsensical, and the special effects were laughably bad. The characters were one-dimensional and completely uninteresting, and the dialogue was stilted and awkward. The pacing was slow and dull, and the film felt like it was never going to end. Overall, I was extremely disappointed by Terrifier 2 and would not recommend it to anyone. Save your time and money and avoid this cinematic train wreck."

    Terrifier terrifies!!
Director Damien Leone returns for another gore fest with 'Terrifier 2'. David Howard Thornton returns as the creepy, diabolic Art the Clown.

The film starts where the first one ended, but we are introduced to new characters. We meet our protagonist, Sienna (Lauren LaVera), her Mother Barbara (Sarah Voight), and little brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam). These new characters have better back stories than the characters in the first film and I cared more about them. While Sienna is making her own Halloween outfit, Jonathan is obsessed with Art the Clown and wants to dress as him for Halloween.

With 'Terrifier 2' being more character-driven, there are not as many kill scenes. The film has better sound, much better acting, and incredible practical effects. I guarantee you'll watch parts of the movie through parted fingers. The kill scenes are insanely gross and brutal, but very well made, I must admit. Not everyone will be able to stomach these horrific scenes.

This time around Art the Clown has an imaginary friend - a young girl who looks a bit like him. I was confused by the fact some characters were able to see her, while others couldn't. Did she choose who to show herself to? Why could the guy in the Laundromat not see her but Jonathan could?

The dream sequences - and dream-like sequences - reminded me of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' (although the film wasn't trying to be another Elm Street!). It was atmospheric and haunting. The film became more suspenseful as it developed, more involved, and Sienna really kicked ass!! Wow, I mean this was incredible character development! Lauren LaVera was simply stunning as Sienna. By now I think it would also be a fair assumption that Art the Clown is not human. I would like to know more about this character, and his origins. But wait, there's more! I believe we will find out in the next installment...

'Terrifier 2' is right up there with the likes of 'Halloween', 'Friday the 13th', and yes, 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. If 'Terrifier' wasn't enough to immortalize Art the Clown, then 'Terrifier 2' surely will. This low budgeter has the qualities of much bigger budget films. How did they accomplish this production on such a small budget?

'Terrifier 2' is an unusually long film (138 minutes!) for this kind of genre, but its never boring!

    Had to watch in parts
I had to watch in parts, not because it is scary, because it is very long & doesn't have a story. It's good when put up against the crappy films of the last few years but thats not saying much. I thought the story was going to be that Art was the Girl & Boys dead father, it seemed like that was where they were going with the sketch book full of the victims from part one and Art the clowns face, why was the father drawing that, how did he know how the victims looked as they were killed? Never explained. But instead just went along to become bizarre like an acid flashback dream. The effects were too bad to make me feel sick in anyway, looked like joke shop halloween stuff being used. All the killings are very still, like the victim has to keep still so the effects dont fall off, or its a dummy body that if was moved would look ridiculous.

A refreshing old-school splatterfest that isn't harmed by its imposing runtime
An epic splatter slasher in terms of both narrative length and grisly content, 'Terrifier 2' proves that Art the Clown still has plenty of sadistic appetite left to eviscerate anyone unfortunate enough to cross paths with him.

Just like many iconic horror movie villains before him, Art the Clown is quickly making a big genre impact, elevating him close to the upper echelons of legendary movie monsters. And David Howard Thornton continues to impress in the role of the demented mime-like murderer that can't seem to be killed. I'm looking forward to this aspect being explored - along with his motives - in future films.

The production design is macabre, the practical gore effects are delightfully nasty, and the soundtrack is comprised of an array of synthwave beats that I can't get enough of. This sequel might be long, but writer/editor/director Damien Leone is improving with each film, tightening the pacing while putting more effort into characterisation. And if you're just here for some stomach-churning depravity then there's more than enough of that too.

    7/10.
