    More Vodka Please
This was a fun watch. A bit more serious and dramatic than I expected at first but none the less a fun film that has heart and a lot of it. There are many good moments that are worthy of giving the film a look but at its center it's a story about moving forward while taking a long look back and accepting what we lack. I don't know if that was the point of the film but that's what I got out of it. There was a bit of drag where I think certain scenes could have been cut and the film would not have suffered and there were moments that I think were intended to be funny but didn't land. It's a comedy at its core and it doesn't disappoint. In other words a happy hangover.

    Don't Underestimate The Machine!
So I finally have watched The Machine!

I knew about this movie from Bert on his podcast 2 Bears, 1 Cave and had got so stoked to learn about this movie, especially learning that Mark Hamill would be playing his father!

I meant to go see it in theater, but sadly it didn't last in theaters as long as I hoped and so I wasn't able to see it on the big screen. Now I can certainly say that after buying it on Blu-Ray I wish that I made a point to see it sooner in Theaters but then again I thought it would have a longer run in theaters and after watching it I say that it should have!

What matters is that I saw it and I'm so happy to own this movie on DVD which couldn't be more pleasing with the addition of the great special features. It's very well put together and looks great although if it was available on 4K I probably would have bought it on 4K but it looks really great on Blu-Ray.

The Machine has it all! It has the drama. It has the comedy. It has the action and at times violence that is in the horror category. It really blends it all so well together. It's such a well shot movie all around. I really love the looks of it. The lighting and at times how colorful it is.

I strongly feel that when it comes to modern comedies this is what we are missing more of! The writing was ingenious and it was all so well thought out. Bert really even amazed me in the action sequences and it was a pleasure to see how his relationship with Mark Hamill as his father grew amusingly and emotionally that at times made me actually tear up.

This is what a great action comedy does! It holds your attention and pulls out all the big guns! It is such a great time and was really so well done. I highly recommend it if you enjoyed a movie like The Immeasurable Weight of Massive Talent and definitely a fan of Bert Kreischer. Whatever you do. Don't underestimate The Machine!

    I laughed a lot
Bert Kreischer isn't my favorite comedian but his stand up is funny enough. I watched this movie at home over food with my son. I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The humor is sophomoric and the action is ridiculous but I found myself laughing hard and often. Mark Hamill's role is funny. The outlandishness of the Russian accents is outstripped by the craziness of the plot. The themes of parenthood, coming of age, who we hurt and how we heal are campy but not so out of place as to be annoying. If you accept the movie for what it is, a self indulgent navel gazing low brow comedy, you just might enjoy it.
