    Exactly the same
    Exactly the same

Two years after the animated adaptation of Addamses, we have a sequel that maintains the level of the first one in all aspects. Animation, acting, humor, atmosphere, nothing better, nothing worse. Everything is the same as the first film, only the story is different. (You can find my review of the first movie here on IMDb.)

I'd just like to point out the cute tribute to "Halloween", "Friday the 13th", "The Shining", "The Amityville Horror", "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and "The Fog", although if you don't watch the film very carefully, you can easily miss it, as well as the homage to "Carrie" which is more than obvious.

    7/10.

Excellent animation, voice acting, and sight gags.
Ever so often I watch a movie that turns out to be much better than I thought it would be, and this is one of those. There is a story, and for a farce like this it is a good one. But the inventive situations and gags really make the movie enjoyable all the way through as they are getting to the ending.

It also borrows from a filming technique, to incorporate subtle camera movement and zooms, either zooming in slowly or zooming out slowly. In this clever animation, which always looks fantastic, the camera movements are simulated of course, but give the effect of actually filming the scenes.

Wednesday, who seems about 11 or 12, expects to win a science fair with her novel idea of extracting key compounds from certain members of the animal kingdom to enhance the abilities of select humans. But in a nod to the "participation" absurdity every student is declared the winner. She gets upset so dad decides the whole clan will get in the camper and take a road trip. Meanwhile a mad scientist is trying to get Wednesday on his side to control the world and get rich.

Their cross-country tour from the east Coast gets them to such places as Miami Beach, San Antonio (mistaking the AlaMotel for the Alamo), Grand Canyon, Death Valley, and finally Sausalito where the mad scientist resides.

All in all a very entertaining animated feature and all the voice acting is superb. At home on BluRay from my public library. My wife skipped, she was getting ready for a New Orleans class reunion trip which, as it turned out, had to be cancelled!

Well... almost an Addams I suppose
The Addams Family 2 was okay, but the first movie was the funniest then the last live action movies. It did have a little bit of comedy to it, but not so much laughs like the first movie did.

Exciting moments are few and far between
A sequel whose surprising/exciting moments are few and far between. Vernon & Tiernan threw a lot of things to keep the plot going which was not a good sign. This time it's all about Wednesday to deliver good message about family bonding and acceptance.
