Fiction of the Ape Clan that Brings Many Meanings
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a film directed by Wes Ball which was initiated from three continuous stories from Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017). The new film from the Planet of the Apes collection , namely Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, will be shown first in Indonesia, namely today, Wednesday, May 8 2024. This film will also be shown in the United States on May 10 2024.

The film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is based on a screenplay written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison. This film is believed to be the conclusion of the story of the ape leader or Caesar. Even though the director was different several times, this film was still written by Amanda Silver and friends. The story presented is a continuation of the story about a group of monkey clans led by Caesar who have a mission to dominate the Earth.

A strong continuation for the franchise
Taking place many generations after Caesar's death, Apes have taken over the world, and the age of humans has fallen. Noa is the new protagonist, and we follow his journey to save his clan after a band of apes raid his village and kill his father. Along the way, we meet Mae and a human who still can speak as she carries out a mission to retrieve a disk from a vault. This brings them to Proximus Ceaser, who reveals that Mae is also after something in the vault and can't be trusted.

What stands out to me about this film is how similar the humans and apes are in this film's world. Apes split off, creating factions and tribes with different and conflicting outlooks on how to live. This is expressed in Proximus and Sylva's willingness to kill other apes in the name of Ceaser, ironically going against Ceaser's wish of "Apes together, strong."

Noa's journey is easy to follow. He has to become a leader even if he isn't ready to take the role. This journey leads him to meet with Raka and learn of Ceaser's natural desire, even befriending Mae.

The real challenge at the start of the third act is when Proximus gets Mae to reveal her desire to get in the vault and not let the apes in, proving she can't be trusted to help Noa. This rings true when she floods the vault by blowing up the dam that Proximus had built with slave labor, destroying everything inside.

The end signals the continuation of this story as Mae takes an encrypted file to an underground bunker with other humans who can talk, establishing communications with another band of humans in Indiana.

This film weaves the thread of trust through its great cast of unique and conflicting characters and shows how thin that thread can be on either side, making for a gripping story.

    Worst effect
In my humble opinion, this cinematic masterpiece deserves an Oscar for the abysmal sound effects and music that graced, or rather, disgraced its existence. While I initially entertained the notion that the production wasn't the work of enthusiastic amateurs, I was soon forced to confront the grim reality that the filmmakers had deliberately opted for the most budget-friendly options available. The auditory experience was so utterly horrendous that it not only severely hindered my enjoyment of the film but also managed to instill within me a profound sense of loathing for the entire production. It's truly disheartening that such a crucial aspect of filmmaking could be so woefully neglected, resulting in the tainting of what could have otherwise been a passable motion picture.
