Comments
Artemur - 8 March 2024 repetitive, outdated, forced and unfunny They simply recycled their old stunts; there is nothing new or funny about that. They also pushed the limits of nudity and obscenity. Be prepared to witness too many close-ups of middle-aged men who are wearing a jockstrap and revealing their penises, buttocks, and scrotums. I didn't like the opening scenes either. The special effects look so amateur, and the extra's acting is terrible and phony. Knowing that Ryan Dunn and Bam Margera were missing in this movie because Ryan passed away in a fiery car accident and Bam Margera turned out to be a bitter alcoholic also made watching this movie unenjoyable and depressing. They hired some new and young people on their team, but they are not interesting or notable for this movie, but I can still recommend it to Jackass fans for its nostalgia value.
ryanpersaud-59415 - 26 March 2023 I'll Keep Watching These As Long As They Keep Making Them, Honestly. Look, it's Jackass. It's one of those franchises you either get or you don't. You either like it or you don't. There's really no in-between. If the idea of grown men putting themselves (and often, their genitals) in grave risk of serious harm for ours and their entertainment is not appealing to you, don't watch this movie. If it does, keep reading.
Jackass Forever, like all other movies from this franchise, is essentially a collection of stunts compiled together. The stunts are more elaborate and expensive (immediately, the Vomitron and the cannon come to mind), or involve animals the budgetary constraints of TV could not get you (the bear, definitely comes to mind). There's also a lot more...penises and nutsacks in this movie than would be allowed on TV.
So, instead of a traditional review, I'll just compile my thoughts as a list:
BEST STUNT
The Bear: Ehren is the MVP of this movie (more on that later), as he participated in basically all of the movie's most memorable and terrifying stunts. I loved the bear one. It's so viscerally terrifying and messed up and that he walked away from it with a big grin of his face (albeit shaking like a washing machine) tells you all.
RUNNERS UP
Hell Night: I just thought this was really funny; it got increasingly ridiculous and was just a joy to watch. More like the most intense haunted house you've been in than a typical Jackass stunt.
Electric Tap Dancing: Hilarious, loved Tyler the Creator (and his reunion with Jasper, who was also a part of the Odd Future collective). It gave me Eric Andre vibes. Speaking of which
The Slap: Just great to see MGK slapped into a pool and acting like a little baby after. A joy.
BEST NEW ADDITION
Everyone! I really liked Zach, Poopsie, and Jasper. Having younger guys come in - even though, I really don't see where the veterans "compromised" to be honest, they got themselves beat the hell up - was such a good idea and really helped with the nostalgia aspect of the film.
BEST CAMEO
Eric Andre. He seemed so genuinely excited to be there, it was obvious how much he admired the original show.
WORST STUNT
Extended ball torture. I'm sorry, but Ehren's pogo stick stunt was way too dangerous, poorly thought out, and cruel for my liking. He sustained actual, permanent damage from this and his nether regions do not work the same (he's said this publicly) since the stunt. The entire sequence is just too much at a certain point and I don't like seeing people get mutilated for my entertainment. Really unfortunate that it happened.
WORST MEMBER
Johnny Knoxville. I'm sorry he got hurt and I totally understand why he didn't participate as much, but it really feels like the most famous cast member got off without having to do much. As the clear "leader" of the crew, it would've been nice to see him participate a bit more.
Overall, it's fun. It's what it is. Like it or not. I liked the others more, but this one was a good time overall.
dtcwee - 31 October 2022 You'll cry laughing I never got into the TV show.
I LOLed at the trailer on YouTube, and when my spouse rolled their eyes and sneered in disgust, I knew I had to watch the movie.
It's rapid-fire stunt after stunt after stunt. Some set-ups are funny, some cringe-y. All outrageous. All out there.
But not novel.
Because they hit you with the replays of them doing the same pranks a decade or so ago.
These charismatic chaps have been enthusiastically maiming themselves the same way since the internet started being a thing.
I don't know about you, but I went from laughing with them to feeling kind of sorry for them.
jyllisa - 14 August 2022 Freaking Hysterical I didn't even bother to read reviews until after I watched it, I disagree with them.
This had me laughing so loudly and snorting!! Maybe it's where my mind was at, that I just needed a funny, no nonsense movie, and this more than delivered!! I think they are still just as funny as back in the day.
Give it a chance!
pkukelhan - 12 June 2022 Watch Idiocracy and see where this is going This is without a doubt the stupidest and most worthless film I've ever seen. I fast forwarded through the whole thing so I finished it in about 15 minutes, 15 very long minutes I will never get back. I would have rated it lower, but the rating system stops at 1. Those that are rating this 6 or above apparently know nothing about visual humor. They should start watching the classic comedians, like Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, and Buster Keaton. The fans of this trash are what I consider "Lefties". That means they are on the left hand side of the Bell Curve. Way left.
