    Painful to watch.
Within minutes the B grade acting was an early indication of what was to come. The bland, dull expressions of the actors was so annoying I couldn't wait for them to be killed off. The director seems intent on catching close up face shots throughout the movie, which made it worse. Don't get me started on the scripting. If you want to feel the desire to slap someone you can't reach, watch this movie.

I'm hopefully half way through the movie by now while writing this, it's playing in the background. It was so frustrating I had to google the IMDB reviews just to check if I was perhaps just having a negative moment. As you will read here, I am not alone.

    Go team shark
The Reef: Stalked is a colossal failure. Its attempt to be an edge-of-your-seat horror movie fails miserably due to its substandard acting, ridiculous script, and lack of realism. Every scene is filled with ludicrous decisions, wooden dialogue, and senseless plot lines. It is a disgrace to the shark movie genre and should be avoided at all costs. Anyone looking for a thrilling shark movie should look elsewhere, as this movie is an embarrassment and will only lead to disappointment. Save yourself the time and frustration and look for a better shark movie experience. Don't waste your time with this dud, as it simply does not deliver on any level. There are better shark movies out there that will provide a more exciting and thrilling viewing experience. Avoid The Reef: Stalked and explore the many different options available for shark movie fans. You won't regret it.

Absolutely a painful waste of time, could not sit through to the end.
The story line was beyond awful. The acting was even worse.

Nic's flashbacks of her sister's drowning made no sense as she was not present during her sister's drowning. Nic should not have flashback images of Cath's point of view experience or the boyfriend's point of view experience of the drowning event. The actress playing Nic was so terrible at being center.

When she went to go help her sister, she did not show any urgency of finding her sister, even after seeing a photo frame and sunnies on the floor. It was also laughable that those were the only 2 items on the floor to indicate a "big" fight occurred.

Did the boat have a leak? If so, why did the leak stop when no one was bailing?

Best acting award goes to the kayaks. They were absolutely natural.

    The great white stalker!
Having liked The Reef (2010) thoroughly, this sequel coming out 12 years later, ended up being a disappointing watch. This lacked the tension of the 2010 version and some poor underwater shots of the shark undermined it further. After a personal tragedy, Nic along with her sister Annie join their friends Jodie and Lisa for fun kayaking experience, only to be stalked by a shark. With little equipment at their disposal how they manage to fend off the shark to make it to the island is what the film is about.

The first 45mins still makes up for a decent watch with some suspense and the director even gets the tense moments right. It is the next 45mins where the film simply dragged on with back to back unexciting events. The drama between the sisters felt half baked and didn't work completely. The CGI shark and not enough thrilling moments are it's major drawback.

    Good shark movie
Yes...I liked it...the acting was good for a smaller range budget..love the use of actual shark footage....they did a really good job creating an emotional reaction.... overall not amazing but definitely a nail biter...the concept is cliche and when you see the shark in any other footage not the actual shark footage it's fair but not great....acting was not great but good enough for the genre .. actually does an underrated job at building tension and suspense....for what it is it was good enough...had moments I didn't expect and they actually do a very very good job at making the characters likeable.

    Surprisingly boring
Even bad shark movies usually have some kind of entertainment to them, but this one has none. For the bulk of the film it's a lot of drama and talking between two girls who were either sisters or friends. I was too bored to even care what they were to each other. I think they were sisters.

One of them had a traumatic experience in a bathtub and being on the water I guess makes her have constant flashbacks to it....like every few minutes she's back in that bathtub in her mind....over and over and over we see her thrashing around in that tub in flashbacks.

I get it....she was traumatized and has to overcome it with this experience. The viewer is relentlessly bashed over the head with this fact...and throughout all this soapy sisterhood bathtub drama there's no shark eating anyone. I guess even the shark wanted no part of that female Lifetime drama either and stayed away.

After an hour I just shut it off because there was hardly any shark and I didn't care what happened to these stupid boring girls and i'm sure I probably missed another 102 flashbacks of the girl being traumatized in that damn bathtub before it ended. I just hope the shark ate that poor girl and finally put her out of her misery once and for all.

If you enjoy shark films, stay away from this one because there's hardly any shark!
