My new Tucker & Dale vs Evil!
Over the top campy delight that had me cackling the entire film. It plays on all of the horror tropes in completely unique ways. The main character is an endlessly cleverly written moron and is the driving force of the entire film. The humor never punches down and it isn't mean spirited. The film is unrated, but, and maybe this is just me, I think the whole family can watch. Maybe go look at parent's guide if you are worries about it. This isn't a movie about how streamers inherently suck or anything like that. The number one fan also delivers an incredible performance! They are a fantastic pair. I can now retire Tucker and Dale as my horror comedy that I show everyone. If you missed the point of Dashcam, you might miss the point here too.

A decent film but a bit too campy...
Deadstream (2022) earns a respectable 6 out of 10 thanks to its entertaining approach to the horror genre, mixing live-streaming culture with paranormal activity for a contemporary twist. This found-footage style film follows a disgraced internet personality attempting to win back his audience by live-streaming himself spending one night in a haunted house. It's a fun ride with plenty of tense moments, but its campiness may not be for everyone.

The movie's protagonist provides a satirical look at online fame and the extremes to which influencers will go for views and likes. This self-awareness is a highlight of Deadstream, blending humor with commentary on the digital age's impact on entertainment and how we consume it. The tension builds effectively as the main character explores the eerie location, with the film generating genuine suspense and jump scares that work well in the moment.

The live-streaming element is cleverly utilized, offering both a sense of immediacy and an innovative storytelling device. It allows for interactive elements that feel organic, such as comments from viewers that shape the flow of the story. This immersive technique aligns perfectly with the modern trend of real-time content consumption, adding a layer of authenticity to the proceedings.

While Deadstream captures the essence of a fun horror jaunt, the campiness does at times threaten to undermine the scares. Some viewers will embrace the over-the-top elements as part of the charm, but others, like myself, might find that the campy tone detracts from the overall tension and suspense. It straddles the line between homage to classic horror tropes and parody, which can occasionally remove the viewer from the experience.

The special effects are a bit of a mixed bag, aligning with the camp aesthetic but also allowing for resourceful and creative scares. At times they contribute to the film's humor, while in other instances they bolster the sense of supernatural dread. This dichotomy can be jarring but also adds to the unique character of Deadstream.

In conclusion, Deadstream is a fun and inventive addition to the horror-comedy realm, offering something for fans of both found-footage scares and internet culture satire. While not as terrifying as it could be, due to its penchant for camp, it still delivers enough tension and enjoyable moments to warrant a watch. For those able to embrace the movie's playful nature, it's a solid evening's entertainment that knows how to engage with its audience.

    BRAVO!!!
Its been a veery long time since I watched a found footage this good. I thought it was going to be another typical paranormal activity/ ghost encounters movie but i was wrong. Its basically the found footage version of evil dead and I loved every minute of it.

Was looking for some new found footage movies to watch. Saw someone post about this movie on a sub reddit and decided to check it out , and i was pleasantly surprised. It had everything from humor , scares and fun. If I ever host a movie night I'm definitely going to put this on. I hope they plan on making a part 2, we need more movies like these.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen
I dont even know where to start. I can't tell if this is satire or if it's supposed to be serious. It's just a terrible movie from beginning to end. It's not funny. It has zero story line. And the constant girly screaming and overacting is so hard to swallow. Honestly, watch at your own discretion. I'm not sure where all of the positive reviews are coming from and I'm wondering if people watched the same movie as I did. It honestly is a waste of time and energy. Don't try to understand it. There is no rhyme or reason behind it. The special effects and make up are terrible. It's just not a good movie. Skip it.

Evil Dead if it was unfunny.
Deadstream (2022) follows a disgraced Internet personality as he attempts to win back his viewers by live-streaming himself in a haunted house. I really don't understand the appeal of this film. I found it to be incredibly unfunny with very few scares and poor acting. However they nailed the 'annoying YouTuber' personality.

Found footage doesn't leave room for interesting or unique cinematography most of the time, this film is unfortunately further proof of this. In terms of the practical and visual effects, I found them to be quite poor and the gore looked rather unrealistic. Which is weird because from other reviews, people have been praising this.

The sound design was one of the better things about this film, but there still wasn't much that stood out. Also, I wasn't a fan of the music used and found that it distracted me from what was actually taking place in the film.

Joseph Winter was a convincing insufferable 'internet personality' but his character was so irritating that it took away from my enjoyment of the film and I was just waiting for him to die. Chrissy was equally as annoying and that's when I realised the characters weren't well written and were basically a carbon copy of each other. The acting also got a lot poorer as the film went on.

My biggest issue with the movie was that the dialogue felt badly written. I really didn't like the comedy and found it to be cringeworthy and cheap. I tried to look for the appeal in some of the jokes but I didn't laugh once and this just made me all the more irritated at the film.

The film was fast paced, yet was pretty dull as there wasn't enough driving force and it was all just so basic. All the tension disappeared in the second half and I didn't find any of the scares effective.

FINALLY, pleasantly SHOCKED by one of today's found footage movies!
So first off, to show you how serious I am about this movie I want to share that I am an avid IMDB user and have been for years. Started recently rating movies about 2 years ago and have about 2000 ratings (mainly to keep up with what I've watched) BUT I've only left 3 reviews. So it takes a lot for me to want to write a review for a movie. With all that said, I was stunned by this movie in so many ways! I thought it would be your typical new aged found footage movie but I was so wrong. Perfect mixture of comedy and horror. Not just a jump scare-a-thon either. Was creepy, grotesque, and kept me on my toes. Acting and special effects, i feel were done really well. I highly recommend and will be watching again!

    Laugh and jump
What a fresh find! I find it has an original twist on the plethora of " footage" and live cam horror movies. It's a great movie choice for a Halloween movie marathon. The movie is humorous with plenty of jump scares mixed with some gore. I jumped and hid under a blanket a few times. The streaming comments from his followers crack me up. Spoiler - the scene with something , like a baby, crawling under the blanket creeped me out ! Like I said plenty of creepiness mixed in with the laughs. Joseph Winter is hilarious. I read this is made by a first time filmmaker, well done. I'm glad I didn't pass it by. Well worth the watch.
