The serotonin rush was REAL during this movie
Heartfelt, meaningful, and hits home. I love how they show how sometimes parents don't always succeed in being supportive, which really hit home, and also Alberto's situation with his father (also hitting home for many others), but still shows a happy ending where parents are supportive of Luca's dreams and desires. It shows you how to cope with that difficult situation & gives a sense of hope for our future kids & how we'll treat/respect them.

The ending was so bittersweet. It's nice to see Luca chase his dreams despite having to leave behind his best friend (*insert eye emoji here*), and it's a very realistic scenario. No matter how much we want to, sometimes you can't just hop off the train last minute to spend forever with the one you love. They kept in touch and are growing/maturing closely without suffocating one another & creating an unhealthy codependency.

The movie left a mark in my heart that I gladly embrace. Beautiful, beautiful movie!!! New favorite, genuinely. (Also, as a teenager, this gave me the same serotonin rush as meeting new people, which reminded me how much I like to socialize!)

    An amazing movie
Literally every Pixar movie has the opportunity to become a masterpiece.. and this one did it PERFECTLY. As usual the characters are extremely likable (say what you want about Alberto, I still found his character enjoyable) and mostly funny. The plot twist was also written really good and it's really not something you'd expect. The visuals are also extremely good looking and colourful (I mean what did you expect, it's Pixar) which is a major plus. Julia, Luca and Alberto are some of the nicest looking Pixar characters we have seen in years. If you ever get Disney+, I HIGHLY recommend you go and watch this. It's really worth it.

    A Luca Warm Review
"Luca" is a Pixar direct to Disney+ movie. It follows Luca, a young sea monster who appears human when he comes onto land.

I see Luca as a tale of two films. One film is great, and the other pretty bland. Let's start with the great movie. Together our trio of heroes, Luca, Alberto and Giulia are practicing for the "Porto Rosso Cup". It is a bizarre triathlon that consists of swimming, biking and eating pasta. They want to win so that they can get a Vespa. When the movie focuses on this, it is a great movie. I love the simple slice of life story this presents. When these 3 characters are just hanging out, they are very naturally entertaining. They have nice chemistry, and it is just a nice hang out and chill type of feel to it. The movie clearly takes inspiration from some "Studio Ghibli" movies. These types of movies don't typically have a villain, or much of a conflict. They are mostly just coming of age stories, and when "Luca" acts like those films, it excels.

When the film is dealing with the sea monster stuff, it is a bore. The undersea world isn't interesting. The parents' attempt to recover him isn't compelling. The obvious subtext about: "being yourself" is heavy handed. It's not that the film has a bad message, it has just been done to death in kids' movies today.

Luca himself is part boy and part sea creature. And Luca the film is part chill, slice of life movie and part after school special about accepting others' differences. Sadly, those latter parts are a bit too shallow. But there is plenty of depth in the other parts.

Hinting on LGBT, amazing animation by PIXAR
Not bad. Average typical pixar storyline. Thought the ending setting up for sequel but based on the ending credit scene, its highly impossible. Still enjoyable. Recommended.

    Friendship
The whole film is enjoyable, fast and soothing of eyes...After coco another masterpiece i have watched. In today's world, adventure, friendship and fun is coming through mobile..but it is not acceptable. We must let our Children to see the world surrounding and feel it..loved it..
