    Powerful and Moving
Loved it! We cried a few times during the movie! Congrats on Dr. Ming Wang making the movie a memorable experience for all of us! Any oppression like the Cultural Revolution should not happen again! We stand together against any dictatorship or evil government which has no regard for human rights! China has wonderful traditions, culture and history. Yet its ruthless leader(s) with an iron grip without a sincere intent to treat their citizens with respect are to be condemned. This movie has made generations to be reflective of horrible mistakes the CCP has made over decades. Salute to the Chinese people, not its power-thirst and ignorant leader like Xijinping!

    A must watch!
For those that have genuinely been wanting to see real Asian representation in American cinema, this is something to support. There's no cheesy effects, no bad dialogue, or exaggerated, mythical storylines. It is a true story that reflects the power of education and working hard.

Dr. Ming Wang's story is well portrayed by Terry Chen and while the depiction of the Cultural Revolution is toned down significantly, the viewer still gets pulled into the suffering and perseverance that he went through to get to where he is today.

This is a story worth watching and one that I hope paves the way for other similar stories.

I watched twice but was NOT Only inspired twice
I watched it twice and was moved to tears each time. As an immigrant myself, although I haven't experienced the same hardships as Dr. Wang and am not as talented as he is, I can relate to the journey of coming to America and starting over. From learning basic daily conversations to pursuing a Master's program in computer science, everything was unfamiliar territory. This process is similar to what Dr. Wang went through when he arrived in the United States. However, with the help of many American friends, everything got better, and I became a better person. Inspired by Dr. Wang, I feel the need to pass on the warmth and love that I received. I can help more people and make meaningful contributions to America and the world.
