    Watchable Netflix vampire horror.
I was hoping this would turn into Society (1989) level of insanity as the rich folk of this grand country manor, set in Whitby!, all have the glint in their eyes of knowing more about what's going on than our young female protagonist.

Sadly, it doesn't go in the direction of yukky body horror romping which would have made the film more sharper and daring-instead it settles into a standard vampire set horror with the usual filmic styles-long dark corridors, cobwebbed old and unused guest bedrooms, things creeping in the dark, one moment their there the next their not, candlelight.

I liked the twisted dinner scene with everyone in masks (very Eyes Wide Shut)-that's a plaudit right there!

The great Sean Pertwee is as watchable as ever as the gruff butler, Thomas Doherty has fun as the villainous lead vampire but Nathalie Emmanuel is wet as the lead actress and her last scene with her irritating friend (Courtney Taylor) tries for Get Out level of pally allegiance that feels tagged on.

Laura wasn't as bored as I was expecting her to be and Elsie and Molly would probably get more out of this Twilight handsome white teethed actors than I did.

Really good until it gets grotesque
I really like the main character, feel so bad for her & what she goes thru. We couldn't even finish watching as the villain & his kind don't value humans & treats them as trash. It's really awful. It was just too much. I don't understand why slasher movies are attractive to anyone with a healthy psyche. It was just demonically influenced & wouldn't recommend to anyone. We need to value life more, not less. Please don't watch, it really has no benefit. I'd rather watch The Chosen series & be encouraged...this just turned my stomach & I work in healthcare & have seen gross things! There are better ways to spend your time.

Could have been so much more !!
The cast for "The invitation" was great although the lead female, Nathalie Emmanuel, who is a very attractive and engaging actor, I found it impossible to see past the ridiculous nose piercing she is wearing (similar to bull nose ring). As always Sean Pertwee is amazing and is a very underrated actor who deserves some starring roles of his own.

The script and direction of the movie is quite poor which is why the film fails on so many levels. There are many opportunities to build up and make more of the "Scare" points which is let down by the direction and the supporting music.

The story is a good variation of a vampire story but "Could have been so much more"

I don't understand the hate lol.
Look, I think most people should know by now to just stay away from trailers. They haven't been the same or good for a while now.

Most of them, including this movie's trailer literally summarize the story and give away the plot. I didn't even last 30 seconds into the trailer because of this and saved myself the disappointment.

Also to be honest the movie was actually quite decent, not bad at all. I don't get why people are talking down on it because trust me when I say, there are worse movies out there. And most movies I'm talking about are the mainstream ones.

Sure, it had a few hiccups, the ending could've been worked on more - also perhaps more explaining should've been done as well but the movie works well with the genre it went for - this is your typical fantasy almost goth like vampire story. If you're into that, totally go for it, although put your expectations aside to enjoy the ride.

    Could've been better
Very predictable plot. A vampire film with modern day wokism forced into it.

The plot had some promise to it had they not ruined it by forcing modern day isms into it.

The poor script along with the poor cgi make it laughable.

It pretends to be The Great Gatsby while trying to shoe horn a vampire film into it. The reveal at the end feels rushed as they take you through the predictable plot of how she is going to inevitably kill him.

The only twist is that they made you wait 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to the end of the movie.

I would pass on watching this. Thankfully it is a Netflix movie and we didn't need to pay anything extra to watch it.

    Sumptuous Production, Childish Story
The Invitation has terrific visual impact, but that's it.

Because I gave it a rating of 3, IMDB is requiring 600 characters for a review of this film, which I suspect is more effort than went into the writing of the script for this hackneyed, unimaginative nothing of a story. The dialogue isn't bad but 15 minutes in, I mused aloud to my husband, "I can't imagine a film company put so much money and talent into a production like this for a story that could be told in its entirety in the trailer... right?" ( wrong)

Gorgeous to watch with solid performances hung on a story could have been told in the wrap up of an episode of Scooby-doo. Why?

Kinda good, thought it could've been better
It's something along the lines of The Tinder Swindler meets Get Out and Ready or Not but with vampires. It was original but had too much build up. By the time there is a reveal, it's pretty much over and the ending did not have much impact.

I think the pacing could've been better but the originality was there the whole time. The movie was not disappointing, but just had too interesting a start and it couldn't hold on entirely. I guess for as many films at two hours are too long, I get annoyed when under two hour films feel like they deserved more runtime and didn't get it. I would've preferred not knowing this was a vampire film, even if that is the audience for it.

    Nice twist
Very good film. Cinematography was very good. Acting was good. Costumes were fabulous. Love these kinds of movies. There is a plot. The plot is clear. Even with the suspense. There should be more movies like this. Kind of reminds me of, the movie, 'Beautiful Creatures'. That kind of feel. Love those kinds of movies. Maybe with characters in my generation, (older) like, the movie, 'Bloom. Maybe a movie that had a little of all 3 movies would be awesome. The movie, The Host is another ingenious movie (of that genre) with the same age range level of learning, and fighting the order of things. There should be more movies like these.

    Refreshing movie!!!
Yes it wasn't some unique storyline but the acting from both main characters was incredible, the chemistry unmatched and kept my attention. Watching movies that keep my attention is hard to do these days but I didn't grab my phone once. I wish Thomas Doherty was cast as Christian grey after watching this. His charm is insanely captivating. Almost wish it was just a romance movie with their chemistry but I enjoyed the twist. Definitely a better love story than twilight lol. I will say the ending left me wanting a little more but not enough to ruin it for me. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. Give it a try!

Why you should WATCH ' The Invitation '(2022)!!!
Hello Guys, In today's article i am gonna talk about Why you should watch the Invitation ASAP.

The Invitation was Directed by Jessica M. Thompson & Written by Blair Butler.

PS: Do Not Watch The Trailer

Having no prior knowledge of this movie, I enjoyed it.

We see a huge estates castle in the movie's opening scene.

Then we entered the interior in a complete Gothic atmosphere and the lighting was absolutely stunning.

When a butler asks his Ma'am to eat because she is weak, she pushes him out and commits suicide by hanging. The special shot reminds me of a movie that started the same way in 2006 named 'STAY ALIVE' directed by William Brent Bell.

As Evelyn or Evie 'Misandei' in Game of Thrones, she works as a freelancer as an ordinary girl from New York. In addition to her profession, she is also a ceramic artist. She lost her mother to cancer a few months earlier and her father when she was 14 years old.

Previously unknown to Evie, she got a DNA match with an English cousin.

Later on, she is invited to England's countryside for the wedding of her new cousin.

    Here the adventure gets started.

For a movie rated PG-13, it's really TOP: No much blood, the scares are too mild and not effective.

From my humble point of view, The Invitation is a Thriller Romance movie with some Horror elements.

Evie and Walter, interpreted by Thomas Doherty, they had positive chemistry together. I really enjoyed their brief conversations with so much desire in their eyes. The kissing scenes are so sweet and warm, as I said, it's a well-done PG-13 movie.

This was a good movie in terms of technical characteristics: the costumes were stylish and the lighting was amazing, creating a completely gothic atmosphere that reminded me of Tim Burton's films, interpreted by the famous Johnny Depp, with a very cold and dark atmosphere. Although the film is not a true horror, the production quality is much higher than most of the other horrors.

The acting and the cinematography were great. If you want to watch a vampire romance movie, I recommend it to you. You'll enjoy it.

English-centered mansion and castle in the countryside of England. This is the decor of most of the movie. The library and the wine cave made me feel like I was a character inside a thriller book. The rooms are well decorated and well lighted: Dark rooms make the moment obvious, but other elements that blend dark and light offer some safety to dive into.

The story is medium, good enough, and holds some elements of an engaging character. It was the vampire plot line that provided the biggest twist for me because there was a lot of mystery about what was going on in the castle. I watched the movie blind, having never seen a trailer or synopsis. I had so much fun with it and unlike many things, I've seen recently.

Guys thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed the movie review. You can leave a comment under the article asking me questions or suggesting some movie that you want me to a review for you.

    Thanks.
