After Ever Happy

After Ever Happy

As a shocking truth about a couple's families emerges, the two lovers discover they are not so different from each other. Tessa is no longer the sweet, simple, good girl she was when she met Hardin — any more than he is the cruel, moody boy she fell so hard for.

    Breath of fresh...stale air
I went into this movie fully expecting it to be as infuriating as the previous ones- I must be a masochist. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, their relationship is still highly toxic, but at least Tessa FINALLY makes the decision to give herself space from Hardin for a while. I was stunned. Hardin, of course, spends most of the movie continuing to make terrible decisions and having nearly zero emotional control. I will fully admit that it annoys me that Tessa uses sex as a go-to for making Hardin feel better. At least she redeems it a bit by admitting that their relationship consists primarily of fighting and sex.

    Toxicity at its best
The dialogue for these movies is honestly so bad it would be funny if not for the fact that the whole time I'm watching them, I think of my niece or any young woman watching this series and romanticising toxic love. Hardin, you're selfish and you suck. Tessa, be strong enough to not be with a man where everyday you're stuck on a rollercoaster of misery. I started fast forwarding from about 30mins in and I don't think I missed anything.

Full disclosure I haven't read the books, and I'm sure as it goes, the book is usually better, but if it sets the same awful example of this couples miserable plight, I don't care for it.

This wasn't entertaining or deeply thoughtful, it was just a painful, painful movie. And there's still another!!!

    Crying crying and more crying
Is this a joke? Are the writers just trolling us now! I'm about 45 min in and literally every single scene is Hardin and or Tess crying . I get we want to see he has a sensitive side but omg this is ridiculous. He was sexy and intriguing in the beginning of these movies. Now he's just a pathetic cry baby.

So disappointing. I cannot even take this seriously.

    How much can they cry?

    Great movie
I found this sequel to be as great as the others with less of Hardin's antics. Although he does have his drunk and crazy moments, you can see where he has matured. What I don't get is that the story somehow wasn't finished. It seemed like they ran out of time and you didn't see where Tessa went to college to become a wedding planner etc. I hope there is a second part to this sequel because if there isn't, then I will be very disappointed. I feel like there was no closure of happiness that is reflected in the books. Let's have some kind of closure for these characters as well as for the fans. And the actors did a stellar job in this sequel as usual.

Will this ever be after forever?
2 twelve year olds argue, break up, make up, rinse, repeat! This reminds me of Virgin River where Mel & Jack constantly see who can out martyr the other! It's silly, trite, petty and shallow. Tessa is just a plain Jane. There is nothing extraordinary about her. She's not drop dead sexy, super smart or ridiculously funny. She's just there. Hardin is a bag of demons waiting to get out and torment him. His whole life is a lie and all Tessa can do is say we need a break. I would have said later girl and that would have been it. Girls like Tessa are a dime a dozen. Yes her dad was a POS and came back in her life only to OD. That really sucks. She aims her hurt at Hardin who's own issues are far deeper and complex even life changing, sure she can't bear children but he accepts it because he loves her and all she can do is feel sorry for herself. This is so apparently written by a 15 year old who has never had an adult relationship. Hardin should have let her go to NY and hooked up with one of those smokin hot chicks from the first two movies! If you have to put up with BS it might as well be smokin hot not plain Jane!

    Disappointed af
No passion, no scenario, boring af... You can't make a good movie only with pretty faces... And it's like they are not normal people, they have no problems, just the toxic relationship... And to me the only toxic thing is Tessa's behavior. It's like the plot of this movie is "how Tessa can play it like Hardin is toxic why she becomes disappointed with everything he does... To me after movies had so much potential. But only the first one was good, not extraordinary but good enough to spend your time, and the others.. such a disappointment. It seems to me like 50 shades of grey. Good love drama with pretty actors to grab your attention in the first movie.. and the next ones get you disappointed movie by movie.
