Vikram, an honest officer with the Lucknow police, is on a mission to find and eliminate gangster Vedha. However, when Vedha surrenders himself to the police and starts narrating stories to Vikram, it blurs the lines between good and evil. Vedha questions Vikram's righteousness while the latter believes he is fair and just. But is he?

    Hrithik Roshan banger
    Watched this movie in the theatre and came home and watched the Tamil original on OTT. While the OG movie is excellent, the screen presence of Hrithik Roshan elevates this instalment to a completely different level.

    The madness and volatility Hrithik portrays through his eyes is unmatched, his screen presence towers above the rest of the cast. Saif holds his ground well and is convincing as the holier than thou cop. The story remains true to the original script. Supporting cast have done a commendable job. The BGM is outstanding especially at HR's entry and climax. This one should not be missed and is an absolute treat for HR fans.

    Superlative Performance by Hrithik Roshan
    I didn't watched the original so it was a good ride for me. The first half was bit slow until Hrithik arrives. He just elevated each and every frame with his shreer screen presence. What an act man! .. absolutely perfect. I do hope they create a Vedha spin-off after fighter and war.

    On the other hand Saif did a good job as Vikram but some scenes which were there in the trailer could have been extended like the chopping off the minister from the terrace. It was exactly what we have seen in the trailer, too short imo. Also the item song was unnecessary. Overall the movie succeeded in holding you back for 2.5 hrs but I guess that remake tag failed it at the box office. Highly Recommended!!

    Failed Attempt
    Disclaimer: I have not seen the original movie , so I'm reviewing this without any reference points and as a standalone movie

    The premise and setting of the movie is good, the attempt to mix folklore with contemporary events is also good. But the direction and editing is awful. The editing looks like that of a college assignment movie. The tone of the movie is also not clear , the makers wanted it to be a dark film but also a slick action movie and they messed it up totally. The background score is unbearable , so are the two totally unnecessary songs.

    Hrithik tries hard to capture the nuances of a UP local, he is not worst but there are many other actors they could have cast who would have done justice to the character. Saif is good in some parts but overall under delivers. Radhika Apte has little to do but is bearable. Other supporting cast also does a decent job.

    Though this is a remake ,the ending and some plots seemed to have been inspired from "Street Kings".

    Overall , it is a failed Attempt to make good dark action thriller with a mix of folklore.

    Awesome Remake
    Love the Vikram veda, the story keeps you engage and love the mystery solving. Both actor at it best level. Post this I saw the south one there is small changes but I say better changes love it after so long. The story start of Vikram betal mix is it self bring memory. Hritik looks total mad and into the role means he totally living the role and saif as Vikram no better character choose.

    It is worth of spend money on cinema with only one song it will make you sit to your sit not to watch with kids as they don't like the mystery.

    I wish they make second part love story remain pending 😝 it needs to reveal.

    Film review Vikram Vedha #sanjuzzreviews #VikramVedha #hritikroshan #Saifalikhan Based on the Vikram Betaal stories, this film is a faceoff between good , portrayed by a bad ass cop Vikram ( Saif ) and evil, by Vedha, an equally bad ass gangster (Hritik) However, is the good that is portrayed to us actually good or is it the other way around is what the story is all about!! The film explores the grey areas where the lines between good and evil overlap.

    Hritik's screen presence, swag , dance and emotions portrayed are topnotch. Even then Saif has a strong role as a tough cop and has played it very well. Radhika Apte as Saif's wife , Satyadeep Mishra as Saif's cop friend and Sharib Hashmi as Hritik's sidekick too have played their parts very well.

    BGM is just wow and has a powerful impact on the narrative. Songs are catchy too. The film picks up pace from the first scene itself and is gripping throughout its 2 hrs 27 mins runtime.

    Twists & turns in the plot are many and suspense is revealed in a very logical manner as Vedha relates 3 stories to Vikram which leads to an explosive climax. Superb ending too !! The makers have also kept the back stories of certain characters to a minimum to avoid digressing from the main plot.

    I did not watch the original R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathy film, but all I can say is that this one is entertaining as hell.

    Worth watching in theatres!! Full action, full dhamaal Go for it!!
