    Dumb Fun
Jamie Foxx is a secret vampire hunter on the trail of a twisted vampire matriarch with nefarious plans to do ... something. Along the way he's teamed with nebbish Dave Franco and supernatural comedic hijinks ensue. This isn't a great movie or even a good movie. The world-building is illogical, most of the characters are one-dimensional and the comedy misses as often as it hits. But it's got some well-staged action scenes; the cast is charismatic enough to be likeable even when the comedy falls flat; and Snoop Dogg shows up to fight vampires with a mini gun. What more could you want from a direct-to-streaming vampire hunter buddy comedy?

Snoop acting really, are you high or what?
This would have been a solid 7 borederline 8 if snoop hadnt came into the movie. I was really enjoying it up until that stage but as soon snoop entered the movie all i could think to myself is why? The acting started going down the toilet and it felt as if i was watching something you would expect to see from a highschool play. It was as if all the other actors started dumbing down their acting so as not to make snoop feel outclassed which he was.

What was the director thinking bringing snoop into what was shaping up to be an excellent film?

I'm no movie producer but the only thing I can imagine was happening when he came up with the great idea of including snoop in the movie was seeing snoop at a celebration party towards the end of filming and he shared a joint with him. While toking on some really good skunk snoop said, "hey man i think it would be a great idea if you put me in the film right now because my spidy sensors say its a winner...here have another toke".

A few beastly action scenes but not much else
I think most Netflix movies are terrible. I figured I'd check this out because I like Jamie Foxx and I always go for vampire stuff. But I still had low expectations. It starts with an awesome action scene that had my jaw dropped multiple times. It's clear with some really cool moves and creative choreography. I was impressed and excited.

But of course, I start to feel the low Netflix movie quality once we get past the action scene. I was barely invested in the story or the characters. It's not terrible. It's just not intriguing, cinematic, or... good. There are also some, lets say, questionable parts.

As someone who like vampires, I thought this was a pretty cool take on the genre. I just wish it was better. The only reason it's not lower is that I really enjoyed the action scenes, with two of them standing out (opening scene and the one with the bros). I may go back and rewatch just those scenes. What a turd
Wow, another fine feather in the cap of Jamie Foxx. Is that what he does now? Is this all he can get these days? A total stinker. Full to the rim with badly delivered exposition. Have these idiots heard of "show, don't tell"? The acting: terrible. The costumes and make-up: laughable. The effects: meh. The plot: insulting. The film looks ok at first sight. But twenty minutes in, you know you've made a mistake. I had to skip through numerous sections -- coz it was either that or ram my head into the screen in frustration. This is the kind of movie the army must have used to torture POWs in Abu Ghraib. Do yourself the favour and watch something else. I wish I had!

Full Of Action, Campy, and Absolutely Entertaining!
This is one action-packed adrenaline-rush of a movie that delivers a full dose of entertainment, both comically and visually.

Jamie Foxx stars as Bud Jablonski who claims to work as a pool cleaner, which is a front for his more serious work, hunting vampires and collecting their teeth to sell them in the black market, and one night he ends up killing the daughter of a powerful vampire, Audrey San Fernando who then seeks revenge from him.

Bud also has his ex-wife, and daughter whom he's trying to support and provide for. But when he finds out that his ex-wife is planning to move to another city and take his daughter with her, unless he's able to pay for her school tuition and other needs, he's forced to go back to his old job in an organised union of vampire hunters, and it's the same organisation that he was kicked out of because of previous misdemeanours and violations of conduct.

He persuades his way into the organisation eventually with the help of his old friend Big John, and Bud is allowed to work his old job on one condition that he is accompanied by an observer, Seth, an inexperienced nerd who prefers his desk job than being in the field.

The story continues then with both Bud and Seth as they navigate their ways finding and killing vampires, and end up building a strong bond through the days which allows Seth in the end to develop his skills and find his inner strength, unfortunately however that happens when he is turned into a vampire.

Now first of all I was reluctant to watch this movie, simply because of too many vampire movies that have come out lately which has become quite boring, but I wanted to give this one a chance since it has Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg in it, and they don't fail to entertain.

Now Jamie Foxx gives a very slick and smooth performance of his character, keeping you entertained and laughing at almost every scene he is in. His dialogues and jokes just flow naturally and you wouldn't want to miss a scene of him at all.

And Snoop Dogg is basically Snoop Dogg yet he's fantastic, especially when he arrives in his final entrance.

Dave Franco is the best choice for his character in this film and he really convinces you of his nerdy and goofy personality who always needs help every step of the way. I honestly used to remember Dave as James Franco's brother because I haven't seen many movies for him, but I can surely remember him as his own talent from now on.

It was also great seeing Megan Good in this movie as well and she looks fabulous as always and she also added a sweet flavour to the film.

And we also got to see Scott Adkins in another spectacular show of his martial arts and I was almost jumping off my seat when I saw him fight, cause he's genuinely one of my favorite martial artists and action stars out there.

The action sequences were absolutely heart pumping. I never thought there would be a vampire movie that comes close to Blade with its rawness and edge-of-the-seat feel but this one surely is the closest so far, despite its campiness and a few silly moments.

The fight scenes and choreography in them were amazing on every level and there is never a shortage of full on action there.

Now despite these awesome aspects of the movie there were two main issues that kind of brought it down for me a little bit. The first one was the villain, or the character of Audrey San Fernando. She was quite generic first of all, and her dialogues were full very cliched style of talking, along with her repetitive choice of words that we heard in many movies before. Her character also had no depth and she didn't add anything new as an antagonist.

Secondly the movie kept mentioning El Jefe who is supposedly the big fish of all the vampires and I thought he was going to show up in the end, and I even thought that Snoop Dogg was going to reveal himself to be El-Jefe. But nope there was nothing shown or referred to him except the name. And that's another point down for the movie really.

One of the best aspects about this movie though is its simplicity and willingness to be campy and show itself as a pure entertainment that doesn't necessarily need to be taken seriously in everything. You just have to take it with its dramatic and goofy parts and enjoy the ride with it.

Everything else apart from the two points about the villains was fantastic and I was not bored for one bit and I hope they make a sequel for it because it's certainly a memorable one.

So for my final score, I'm giving it 6.5 / 10. For being purely entertaining and ridiculous at the same time and not taking itself too seriously.

Really good premise but awful ending and awful villain.
This Movie had a great premise, it had a really really great set up and a great lead actor, a really great main character. I really loved the first 20 minutes of this.

But sadly this movie is completely ruined by a really cliche, really bad villain and a terrible story for the villain.

The main villain was just awful. Her story was very cliche and one note. Very simplistic The movie is also ruined by an uneven tone and going from genre to genre. ( From action to horror to comedy) it doesn't really work. It's too silly to be taken seriously and then too gory and scary to be a good comedy. It doesn't work well.

I understand they tried something new with vampires, but the villain was too cliche to work.
