perjhoselyn - 5 May 2024 JHOSELYN MONTEZA MALAVER Most of the lead actresses are older than the girls they play in high school, this is what happens a lot in most teen movies out there. I really like watching these kinds of movies even though I already finished high school 12 years ago, but I still like a lot of movies because they make me feel like I'm still youn Secondary school is and will always be secondary regardless of the years. Double betrayal, double dealing, all the time, with betrayal and betrayal as the pillar, you will be scammed and deceived, with no time to reflect or think, the tables turn, the bridges burn, with a big twist.
torchicxultimate - 6 December 2023 I hate the ending. Everything was really cool the twist was amazing.
But the ending was AWFUL. Like, they just became besties out of nowhere. Like if nothing happended, and then everything was happy like a Disney princess's ending. I hate that so much. Both of them (Eleanor and Drea) didn't pay for the consequences they did, they LITERALLY RUINED people's life and NO consequences??
Netflix made the best plot twist with Eleanor and then ruined it when they "apologize", and WOW Eleanor with a hiding camara. Sorry, what? And the Drea reject Yale because she "changed", Drea literally was dying for Yale and then she suddenly changes and decide NOT to go.
What I hated most was that Drea and Eleanor went back to being friends as if nothing had happened and they had no consequences for their actions.
If it wasn't for the ending I would probably rate this 7/10.
Top_Dawg_Critic - 4 March 2023 Like, gag me with a spoon, all that drama, grody to the max. If you're older than 19, this probably wont be for you. This is a movie for, and seems like it was created by, a bunch of high schoolers. It was your typical pretentious obnoxious spoiled teenagers in their typical environment. As a comedy, I don't think anyone laughed, but there were plenty of eye-rolls and cringes. The story was predictable, and even the twists weren't anything unexpected. Even with the decent pacing, the two-hour long runtime dragged out and felt like three plus hours. This film felt like it was outdated and something we've seen before many times. It's a generous 6/10 for the decent performances and cinematography.
mim_nawee - 26 December 2022 Love the PLOT TWIST Let me say "why all of the actresses of this film is so hot" Camila and Maya are doing so well in this movie. I love the way the movie show a friendship of people and the love line is great too love it! Love the plot twist but the storyline is still weird but I give this movie 9 out of 10 because the cast. They cast the mc so well everyone has their own unique. They're performing so well especially Maya she's so freaking hot I really love the way she talking with her husky voices Ugh I'm so falling for her. Not that great movie but I love the Main Characters and the production is so gooddddddd.
style-42775 - 16 November 2022 Colorful teen movie with a twist Do Revenge is a solid teen movie that has some depth and intelligence while still being fun. Although not perfect, it's a great choice for a girls night or whenever you want something light-ish to pass the time.
The sets and costumes are really well done with some great color that I think make this movie a little more shiny and captivating than others. This is not a girl/boy next door teen movie, but focuses on privilege, revenge and friendship. There's also a bit more of an edge to this move that teen movies of the 90's and early 2000's don't have (it seems like everything has to be dark and edgy nowadays.) Nevertheless, Do Revenge is still light hearted with a 'good guys win' vibe where everyone learned their lessons.
Overall the acting and writing were solid, and this is one of the better teen movies that Netflix has come out with. There was minimal cringe and the script and plot were smart. Maya Hawke in particular did exceptionally well.
The story follows two girls who team up to ruin the lives of the people that wronged them. Do Revenge is full of twists though, and not everything is quite what it seems.
You can definitely see this as a Gen Z teen move, maybe. There are a lot of politically correct buzzwords- things are 'problematic,' 'misogynistic' and the villains are being 'fake-woke allies.' Lots of identity labels are thrown around. I guess if that makes a movie Gen Z, then so be it, but that's the main thing that made this movie feel like it was definitely made in the 2020's. It sometimes comes off as a bit overkill but it seems like in some sense the movie was being a bit ironic in its usage. Either way, I didn't mind it because the movie wasn't taking itself too seriously.
My main complaint is that some aspects of the ending gave me some whiplash and I think things were resolved a bit too easily. The movie isn't dark but there's a shocking moment or two but by the end those moments are swept under the rug which left me feeling a bit confused.
asserbadrawy - 29 October 2022 Average Movies The Movie is average , even below average in some parts.
The story you will feel that you watched before is many movies and TVs series
The acting is average , the casting is average
This kind of movies , high school movies , senior students movies needs new ideas , new thoughts or do not proceed with it.
The character of Maxx the male main character, the actor is not good at all, acting , even his body language
Is very poor
Really those kinds of movies Netflix produce , let me think twice before watch any movie.
I gave that 4 stars of 10 stars only for the efforts some actors do, and the beautiful pictures and locations in the movies
Thanks.
