I wasted more than one hour of my life
I can't understand why an actor so brilliant like Mr Hawke can be convinced to star a movie like this... I didn't understand anything. Just a bunch of scenes disconnected each from the other. I'm sorry I watched it. It's a distopic world where it's supposed that there is some kind of war, maybe a biological one. The protagonist goes from one place to the other, most of the film runsin the night time. The photography resembles a bad lighting, noisy , not sure if on purpose or not. Don't lose your time. The only part I could save from the chaos is the final comment from Mr Hawke...please Mr Hawke, don't read a prospect script while you're drinking whiskey (joke) . For God sake, you're such a great actor...

    This movie thinks you're stupid
I'm not gonna pretend I understand what goes through the minds of the people who judge these films for awards, and I ESPECIALLY don't know after watching this. I don't care about what this movie is TRYING to say, or what it "accomplished", it doesn't deserve to be dignified that way.

I've seen this movie 3 full times and I can tell you all it's gonna do is make you hate whatever its message is.

I understand that you didn't have money or the greenlight to film an actual explosion, especially during COVID restrictions. But what I don't understand is why not substitute for something clever like playing a radio report of a terrorist attack? But what you DON'T do, is play footage of the location shot, with a pixilated fireball in the foreground.

    Huh?
It was all over the place. I mean, literally all over the place. To the point where you are watching the movie and trying to figure out what's important and what's filler. There are scenes that have no point to advance the plot. Scenes that make absolutely no sense. Scenes that are too dark to see what's going on.

It's trying to hard to be art, but then completely fails as a movie. It's a shame, because I like Ethan Hawk as an actor and wanted to like it.

But if you don't trust my review, at the end he does a little blurb where he actually said he doesn't understand the movie and the script didn't make sense either. Lol.

Left me in the dark...literally too
This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I watch quite a lot. For the most part, the very dark cinematography, and choppy and brusk dialogue, are abysmal. Ethan Hawke stars in it, but who knows? It could be anyone we are watching. The plot is disjointed with scenes that have no rhyme or reason ( maybe because a viewer can't see much). I couldn't understand what was going on, except when there were the anticipated explosions. Adding to that parts in Russian mixed in. The entire movie was a waste of time. I can't imagine the actors being proud to have played roles in this movie.

This is garbage through and through.

It's just a collection of people dropping in and out of the screen. It's impossible to figure out where, when and why things are happening to get even a rudimentary understanding of what the hell is going on.

Whoever the hell thought extreme zoom-ins with handheld shaky cam makes for art should be forced to return the money their parents paid for their art school education.
