mavi_cam - 28 June 2024 I think the score of the movie should have been higher Harriet Slater think she s a great actress with a great voice really love him and as for the movie think most of the scenes were above average so don t understand why this movie is rated so low think some young people may have been psychologically affected by some scenes in the movie special saw scene maybe that s why your score will be deducted think viewers who do not like such scenes should not watch this movie because the score is unnecessarily deducted think the cast did a great job except for the minor logical errors of the film Of course it could be better but everything in life could be better you know.
maycipie - 15 June 2024 So much potential, what a waste! Wow, this was so bad. Even Rob Zombie could've done better! This film could possibly have been a contender for insidious, if done properly. This however, is boring, poorly executed, and absolutely laughable. The characters are awful, the acting is awful, and the film is worse! I only sat through it as die hard horror fan. Please people save your valuable time, skip this crap! It's not worth the price of the electricity it costs to run your telly, nevermind your time.
Freddy Kruger, Michael Myers, and Ghostface are all signing petitions to have this garbage removed from the horror list! You've been warned 😊
kolemartinez - 8 June 2024 wasted potential So much potential to be an amazing film but the execution is lacking - quite literally. All the death scenes are pretty much censored like a PG film and are pretty much all of them are spoiled from the very beginning, though interpreting the tarot readings was kinda fun.
The designs of the monsters (?) are pretty cool and I especially liked the magician, his scene with paige was fun and creepy and would've hit so much harder had it not been censored, same could be said about the hermit with his light. The hangman was lacking and so was the devil and death itself.
One of my theories was that haley would take place as the new Astronomer, playing on the line "when a door closes, another one opens". I still wish they did that, especially after watching the ending, haley's whole story of losing her mother at a young age and begging fate for otherwise, a mirror of the Astronomer's story.
thehorrornerdgal - 5 June 2024 A huge fail Sometimes you really don't care about if the idea is original or not. At the end of the day, almost everything has already been done to death. Haunted houses, serial killers, vampires, werewolves, witches, zombies etc you name it. A bunch of teenagers messing with stuff and then getting cursed isn't an original idea and it doesn't even excite you when you hear it.
However, I believe a movie becomes original not with its premise. It becomes original with its great characters, intriguing plot and a mind bending twist in the end.
Unfortunately, Tarot has none of these in it. The storyline is very predictable, the kills are cheesy, the characters are unlikeable and the ending is just meh. There are no redeeming qualities in this movie whatsoever. It's more like it was written and directed by a 12 year old.
The reason why this movie got poor reviews from the audience is because its universe isn't very believable. Characters are just dumb, especially the guy with the big head, the monsters are laughable and the jump scares don't work. There are so many of them one after another that you get desensitized after 5 minutes or so.
I don't know about you but I'm really sick of horror movies letting me down. Bad movie after bad movie just tells me that Hollywood has to stop with this nepotism nonsense and give more chance to independent filmmakers if they want to make their money back from their movies.
In conclusion: I wouldn't pay for this one if I were you. Skip it altogether if you can, as it's a really badly done horror movie.
