sanadalsalt - 31 October 2023 A Hollywood Touchdown!! This film is silly and fails to adequately explore the subject matter. It manages to be somewhat entertaining in the first half. However, it downplays the issues that led to Sean Payton's suspension, his involvement in them, and his fight against the suspension. On the other hand, it devotes plenty of screen time to the childish infatuation of a boy with a girl he knows nothing about.
The simplification of plays as Mexican food items is amusing and elicits a chuckle, but it undermines the actual achievements of the coaches and the team that overcame difficulties to reach a championship game.
It seems as though the creators of this film wanted to enhance this intriguing true story by incorporating Bad News Bears-style humor and silliness, along with a touch of drama involving Payton and his family.
Kevin James portrays a likable character, although he doesn't resemble Sean Payton much, unfortunately. The portion of this film that accurately depicts true events is very limited and could be summarized in a paragraph or two, which is regrettable.
nicolashasek - 16 August 2022 Pretty horrible Pretty horrible movie couldn't wait for it to be over, I'd slap the kids silly with the way they act probably the cheesiest movie I've ever seen. Do not waste your time do not watch it ! Just a joke of a movie no way anything actually was based on true events except for the team (the kids) being horrible at football. In fact it was so bad I had to write a review which I've never done in my life.
ashleyfitches - 20 April 2022 Nice family movie. I came into this movie not really expecting much, but it did surprise me how nice and warm hearted this movie was, with enjoyable lighthearted comedy, and a pretty predictable plot, however for a family movie it was great. With me been a Brit, I didn't really know how the rules or that this was based on true events was, but it really didn't matter when you just see as a lighthearted family comedy, and that's what I did, and I think i enjoyed it more that way, instead of knowing what the true scandal and events that happened. I would definitely recommend to watch if you just want to have fun and a bit of gentle comedy.
thewalkingpuns - 27 February 2022 good happy madison film Better than expected. Pretty fun in places which is sometimes hard when a film is based n a true story. But kevin james and co did well once again with another great production. Overall a good movie with a mix of laughs and seriousness.
