    Cute movie
Honestly I put it on because of Shawn Mendes's vocals. I didn't know much about the movie. After watching it with my 3 year old, I was left with a toddler acting like a crocodile. The movie was very very adorable. My husband thought the same. Some scenes were cheesy and didn't make sense but it is also a kids movie. And my child seemed to love Lyle so much. The way Lyle was animated was incredible. They did a great job. The movie was just such an adorable movie that we will probably watch again later. If you are bored or feeling down and you want something to cheer you up. I recommend this movie.

Way too long and melodramatic for the intended audience
Way too long and melodramatic for the intended audience: this is supposed to be a movie for children and yet it goes on and on with little to no adding to the story.

Sing (2016) was sung, Madagascar (2005) was set, Trolls (2016) featured its pop singer, The Greatest Showman (2017) had its hat-wearing star; what does Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile(2022) add to the picture?

Sempiternal same story, plot, characters, set up, no funny jokes, poorly recreated zoo, this reviewer cannot start listing the innumerous number of clichés and copy/paste twists.

In a chocolatecheerryshell, apart from cute lively and believable Persian Lorretta, this movie is not standing tall...

    Heart Warming & Fun Watch
For a movie about a simple premise, a singing crocodile navigating NY, this somehow captures your heart and keeps you entertained throughout it's entirety! My review is based on zero previous knowledge of the orignal cartoon so please take my review as acknowledgement of this single source of story and video!

The cast all NAILS it, and the CGI is simple in a way you never question the authenticity. Musically the film delivers true heartwarming numbers and Ofcourse Shawn Mendes' vocals rock everytime. This was a superb movie for what it was! You get a good story, lovely music + choreography, plenty of laughs and lots of smiles!

    8 of 10.

    Mute crocodile that can sing
My teenage sister made me watch the film - but when I saw a cgi character on the poster, I assumed, the film would be decent. If you have a big budget for actors like Javier Bardem and very realistic cgi characters, It would be a shame then to waste it for a bad story and script, wouldn't it?

    Unfortunately it did.

    1. Maybe it is my taste, but I don't think that Mendes's voice was appropiate for a mature, realistic, heavy reptile's singing. Also, how can a crocodile be mute and still be able to sing? Where is the logic?

    2. The film seemed to have many unnecessary sidestories that didn't bring anything good, if anything, they distracted me from understanding the main story. - was the mean neighbour really significant?

    3. Why was it such a key part of the film, where Lyle, Josh and his mum bath in food waste? It made me wonder, what was message? Why did Josh eat literal rubbish and say that it was delicious and "the best thing he ever tried" (as far as I remember)?

    4. From the beginning Josh's mum is portrayed to be a sportsy, healthy mum that very clearly forbidds eating "palm oil", junk food etc. Yet later on, as she is friends with Lyle, she becomes a typical "cool mum" that serves pizza for breakfast - why? Just because she sang a song with Lyle about "not following the rules" and jumped into a bin?

    The list could go on.

I'm sure there was a couple of good messages to be delivered, especially for a young audience, but it didn't happen.

    A Heart-Warming Family Movie!
    Such a heart-warming family film.

A talking crocodile, a pt barnum'ish magician, a lonely and friend seeking boy and a family that just moved in. I really like the whole build-up yet I couldn't help but think , so much more could have been put into these elements. The characters surely might have been deeper but considering it is PG, all really worked off nice enough.

Fegleys have been really talented actors and seeing them get the roles makes me happy. Definitely well deserved for them

I had laughters and enjoyed myself pretty much. I really would like to have been able to watch it in the cinemas.

    i cannot...
Understand that i just liked it first , when the truth is that i really loved it when making a second watch along with my spouce...it might be some of the reason because she is a song herself, and im just her halfnote...and i havent even heard the story about lyle, lyle, crocodile, my mother really wasnt a good bookreader so...

if you lack the telling talent, then show this wellmade hugging and ever so coosy story about the singing crocodile and his friends in new york city, a marvel of goldglowing cinematography, very entertaining musical score and ditto acting makes this one of the greatest film made in 2022...

and remember that im a grumpy old man that has a rather cruel kind of squemishness, but they handled me with its magics this time, a fair and square 10 stars from tgom.

Feel good, entertaining, safe to watch
I enjoyed the movie throughout. The story is nice, there are no unnecessary overacting, no fearful scenes. It's just fun to watch and a great movie for 6-7 year olds. Everybody is ok, the characters are simple enough to understand, it's all clear who are good and bad, so it's easy to follow for children.

It doesn't try to teach any social lessons, world views, or any current propaganda, which was refreshing.

The musical parts were ok, not outstanding.

We didn't know about the book, so cannot tell if it's accurate to the story or not, and actually it is not required to know the book.

The length was a bit on the long side, almost 2h with the usual advertising at the beginning which stretches a bit the attention of children. I find that with better editing and a bit shorter runtime it would be more impactful.

All in all a great movie to watch with children in a cinema to come home with a positive vibe.
