    really bad and boring
One of the biggest pieces of crap this year. It's simply the worst movie about aliens I've ever seen in my entire life, and I've seen several.

The characters are boring, the color palette is dark without any purpose, the little CGI the film has is bad, the plot is bad and even the alien's spaceship is ugly and silly.

I give it a 3 because I realized that the actors at least tried and because the suspense of the first 30 minutes is really intriguing, but it's a damn boring film! Waste of time!

I recommend that you look for other films of this genre to watch, because this one is too bad. It seems like they made this film in a hurry, with a terrible script and meaningless ideas.

    Good campy horror sci-fi here
I went into this one without expecting much based on the reviews I skimmed. I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed it. Now it's not an artsy, academy award nominated or fly by the seat of your pants blockbuster flick, but it did the job just fine. The special effects were good and used effectively. It had a vibe going throughout that you just know something is off, but when you try to guess it keeps you on your toes. I really enjoyed that part, the writing was original, not totally predictable at every turn like some reviews suggest. I mean granted, at some points you get the feel for what's going on, however it does a fantastic job of turning a different, or slightly different corner than you expect. It had a good tone of dread and left it on an interesting note. I actually would have liked to seen more of it. Recommend if you like unique sci-fi horror type movies that don't follow the typical Hollywood paradigms.

Significant Other is a disappointment, with little to offer aside from its impressive soundtrack
I recently watched Significant Other (2022) on a flight. The storyline follows a couple camping in the woods near a recently crashed spacecraft, and as they notice peculiar wildlife behavior, they soon discover the unsettling reason behind it.

This picture is cowritten and codirected by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, who also worked together on Villains, and stars Maika Monroe (It Follows), Jake Lacy (The White Lotus), Matt Yang King (Riverdale) and Dana Green (Snowpiercer).

Despite solid performances from Monroe and Lacy, the movie disappoints. While their acting feels authentic, the special effects and horror elements resemble a mix of Terminator and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, relying excessively on CGI. The only redeeming aspect of this movie is the outstanding soundtrack.

In conclusion, Significant Other is a disappointment, with little to offer aside from its impressive soundtrack. I would give it a 3/10 and recommend skipping it.

    Unusual sci-fi but convincing enough.
It embraces an eerie and enigmatic tone that subsequently gets turned on its head, First half drags a bit but there's a neat twist about halfway through and then you're in for a hell of a ride until the final credits. Its a great movie , especially the ending, i mean you rarely see an ending like this in movies these days that makes so much sense. The lead performances were more than acceptable, Maika Monroe is very convincing and fits well into her role. There are many twists that made me re-watch a few scenes over and over again. Good cinematography for such a low budget movie. Significant Other delivers tense and entertaining moments, that are direct and to the point.

    WORST scenario EVER
A ultra violent T1000 extraterrestrial doppelgänger coming from space... falls in love with a terrestrial woman and wants to marry her (!!!!!????) But Maika Monroe is bored as hell in every frames and wants to throw him to the sharks. She finally manages to kill it with a boring speech and a stone...before it comes back to haunt her in the radio of her car.

Who read the script? Who produced this thing? I want to talk with them, I want to know "why", I want to know what is wrong in ther life?

"Significant Other" premiered recently on Paramount+. Paramount+, please watch the movies you buy, we don't deserve this.

    Significant Piece of Garbage
I had just finished watching Smile on Paramount + when this began playing right afterwards. I knew nothing about it beforehand.

The scenery is beautiful but other than that this movie sucks. It dragged on and on with absolutely nothing happening. It's never explained why Ruth is so uptight about hiking other than she prefers the water. She's got issues about marriage because her parents marriage failed. The characters have zero chemistry and Ruth is so unlikeable.

When the twist (if that's what you can call it) is finally revealed, I was like "do what?" The movie takes a massive turn into Way Out There Land and not for the better. It flipped from what was (I assume) a suspense movie into a ridiculous...........I don't know what this movie turned into. It also contradicted itself; (SPOILER) If the aliens are invading and they assume peoples bodies, why did he kill the other campers?

Skip this movie. It's boring, and veers off into Stupid Town with no way back.

Was so bad it was laughable
Being from the northwest and loving the outdoors I thought I'd give this movie a try.

Unfortunately this movie far from delivered a good/thrilling story. It mixed sci-fi and the forest.

It even had Terminator 2 elements. I laughed it was so bad. Looked like a high budget summer stock production.

The acting was repulsive. The writing was worse.

I truly think this is the worst movie I have ever seen. Unfortunately once I was halfway through i figured I needed to see how this trash ended.

After turning it off I am still confused. Not only about the movie, but how a company could find the budget to support this film.
