fecame-63850 - 23 May 2024 Lackluster Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey tries to reinvent the classic children's story with a darker and more violent twist, but ultimately falls short. The film's gratuitous use of gore and violence serves only to shock and cheapen the characters and the message of the original story. The plot lacks coherence and fails to capture the magic of the original characters, while trying to capitalize on their popularity. Despite a few clever and humorous moments, the film can be difficult to enjoy due to its overly violent tone. In the end, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is a lackluster attempt at reinventing a beloved childhood classic.
dsmith1868-1 - 30 March 2024 Taking advantage of loopholes... All these people did was take advantage (first) of the expired copyright of the AA Milne character. They bought some store halloween masks. They had decent equipment. They had "actors". They had a dream... and a nightmare for us. Not a good kind of nightmare that comes from watching a good horror film. The bad kind of nightmare from watching a totally incompetent filmmaker that had no good ideas of his own, other than taking advantage of being the first to exploit this now free to use character. Sadly, it made money and we're getting two more. This is the lowest of the low: the worst kind of filmmaking; not wanting or even caring about making something good... just wanting cash in and to make a quick buck. I have zero respect for people like that. They have no respect for you, the viewer and certainly no respect for the IP which they might as well have stolen. Please avoid this "movie" and anything that this guy does in the future or you will just get more of this tripe.
metalrox_2000 - 21 March 2024 Winnie the piece of crap Once something like Winnie The Pooh falls into public domain, one wonders what a devious mind can create to totally upend the original character.
Instead of something funny, or at the very least, a bizarre porn parody, we get this. A horror film that ignores logic, defies all laws regarding a horror movie, and cares more about gore that plot and character development.
Little attention is paid to anything, really. The film, written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, a man who'd have to improve vastly to be considered a rank amateur. Frake-Waterfield is so terrible, he makes Coleman Francis look like Francis Ford Coppola. The special effects, if one can even call them that, are so terrible, you'd expect this poor level from a high school film student.
Christopher Robin, the alleged hero, runs away crying, leaving Maria to be slaughtered by Winnie in a climax, that, well, more feels like a relief.
This was a film so bad, even the oxygen must have been embarrassed to be there. I really hope Disney is more protective of its copyrights in the future. If I honestly could have given this film a negative ten, I would have. By far, the worst "film" I've ever reviewed for IMDB.
