ashley-crookes - 22 June 2024 Avoid it, no really. I enjoyed the first 2 films in this trilogy. When I saw there was a third, I was quite excited as it's one of those few films that I can watch with my parents as I know they enjoy just a regular film, no sci fi or too much bad language and violence.
Sadly this movie really fell flat. My mother actually walked out after about 20mins, she was that bored. My father and I only just managed to slog our way through the entire film.
What is new in this film? Nothing really. A couple of new faces that didn't do too much, a boring plot and NO comedy, really. It wasn't funny at all. And no, trying to make it "modern" by adding a blue haired mentally ill person to the mix
as a "mayor" really sank this boat even lower into the "do not watch" abyss. I had given it a 4, but after thinking about it, no, that's too generous. A 3 will suffice. The blonde daughter and the Syrian were pretty - that's worth a 3!
mguelkerwilson - 2 April 2024 What happened? Having loved the first two MBFGW movies, I was looking forward to this one. The only thing that came to mind after it was over, was what the heck happened? It was the most disjointed movie I've ever watched, like a bunch of scenes with characters I barely recognized just mashed together. The movie magic that touches you when you are able to identify with characters and their stories was absolutely non-existent. Also, where did I miss that Ian lost his father too? Was it the photos of Rodney and Gus at the beginning credits that was supposed to be the clue that both were gone? Even Aunt Voula wasn't as funny as she normally is, or was, in the first two movies. The entire film was just a mess.
nancywyatt - 14 March 2024 Sad sequel! The first in the now trilogy was fresh and funny. I still laugh (and loudly) at that movie and really at a true comedy. I watched this movie at home and never laughed even once.
Another problem with this movie is that they were happy to include political/social statements that makes it annoying to viewers that don't share those ideals.
Even everyone's favorite aunt was only so funny. She had a joke about her hip and it was similar to the lump in the back of her neck story, but it wasn't funny at all.
All I can say is that I enjoyed the beautiful Greek scenery, but not enough to make up for the chaotically bad film.
