The Croods: A New Age

The Croods: A New Age

Searching for a safer habitat, the prehistoric Crood family discovers an idyllic, walled-in paradise that meets all of its needs. Unfortunately, they must also learn to live with the Bettermans -- a family that's a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. As tensions between the new neighbors start to rise, a new threat soon propels both clans on an epic adventure that forces them to embrace their differences, draw strength from one another, and survive together.

    Movie #7
The Croods 2: A New Age/ Os Croods 2: Uma Nova Era (2020) Film #7

Continuing my journey of watching films and making amateur criticisms. This is the seventh film I've watched and analyzed on this profile, but it's the first on this profile that I've never watched. So, I just watched the first Croods movie and I much preferred the first one. It seems like they reset all the developments in the first film, even Guy is annoying in this film. It's much more childish. Excessive slow motion for no apparent reason. So I don't complain, I really liked the new character Aurora. And the mini plot twist between them. At first glance, it seems like there's going to be a fight for Guy's heart, but in reality they've become best friends, and that's wonderful. But that's all that's cool about the film. I gave it a 5 because of the characters that, even when reset, are still wonderful.

Previous Film: The Croods/Os Croods (2013).

    Next film: Rango (2011)

Film Watched on March 19, 2024.

    Rating: 5/10.

    "Unexpectedly Decent!"
Even though this movie was quite mediocre I was pleasently surprised. This movie has a really good sense of humor and I was never bored during my watch. The new characters were mediocre and decent at best but we're passable.

The animation was your run of the mill DreamWorks stuff and was nothing special, but did have some nice colors and scenery. The plot was your average breaking ties with your family story and yet again was decent at best.

Overall a pretty good watch and pleasently surprised me with its sense of humor and wonderful scenery. I do recommend this movie, it is a fun watch 6/10.

    It's okay!
I found this film fun to watch, it's very colourful and the views they show are lovely. The story is okay and is easy to follow and is paced well too, I like the characters and I love the little sloths!

    Modern Family meets Croods
The beginning of this is quite slow and may feel a bit boring. It takes a few minutes to say the least for the ball to get rolling. Actually it only takes off when we meet our new characters - new people. And new people have different views. Very different views and lifestyles to be exact. More modern ... so you will not miss the puns and stabs to modern day families or activities (the window being the most obvious one).

Really well done animation wise and also story wise. There may be a supernatural element to this that you may not totally agree with ... but you needed a bigger evil/enemy to make this work - to combine and make everything work out in the end.

It may have been a while since the last Croods movie was released (I have not watched the TV show or whatever else was on the ... tube), but it fits right in. And it has all the big players back to do the voices. Which is quite fun to listen to.
