    Dull and forgettable
There is about 8 minutes of moments and songs that stand out but those alone can't make a movie great. A great movie takes 90 plus minutes of moments that tell a story and have some memorable characters that carry through time and generations. The film is about a dysfunctional family with magic, one has a gift that causes them to ostracize them, one doesn't have a gift and spends the movie finding out why. This is one of a dozen plus Disney movies lately that are forgettable and will fade. Luckily this is a one and done movie where I don't think would deserve a sequel to tell more about the characters. Movies like Inside Out, Toy Story, Sleeping Beauty, Pirates, etc. For an example end up with sequels or ones that tell a great story and are watched 20-30+ years in the future.

Encanto: A Heartwarming and Visually Stunning Movie for the Whole Family
I watched Encanto after its release in theaters, and it was a pretty enjoyable film. The animation was stunning, and the music was catchy and upbeat. The story was heartwarming and easy to follow, making it an excellent movie for the whole family.

The characters were unique and well-developed, each with distinct personalities and quirks. I especially loved the main character, Mirabel, who was strong-willed and determined to save her family.

However, there were a few moments when the plot felt predictable and formulaic, so I'm giving it a 7 out of 10 stars. Nonetheless, I recommend Encanto to anyone looking for a fun and lighthearted movie.

    Disney's Best
This movie is pure magic and works so well. Any person who gave it a low rating clearly didn't understand all of the working parts that contribute to this masterpiece. Depth and purpose are found in so many details that work cohesively together to bring about a flawless tale with beautiful scenes and superior songs. I was surprised at how many of those details were missed or overlooked by viewers.

The more you watch it, the more you appreciate the vulnerability and truths on display. For example, Mirabel finally gets her doorknob and door at the end - the door to the whole house. The house is hers. She and Abuela are the two stewards of Casita, and they both are in charge of guarding the magic. That's why things fall apart when Abuela's and Mirabel's ideas of what is best conflict. Also the epiphany that the miracle is not the magic gifts but the family members themselves highlights why Mirabel is most special of all - she did not get a gift because she IS the gift. Her perspective and love and concern for her family are the glue that hold everyone together and allow for each member to be seen for who they are. This movie is hands-down a masterpiece and I question anyone's judgment if they disagree.

    Fun and Poppy
Encanto is a whirl for children. I loved the songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda. They are all earworms (looking at you 'We Don't Talk About Bruno'). While I found the story shallow, the message about acceptance and owning up to your shortcomings was sweet and easily understood by children. The voice acting and animation were fantastic as expected from a Disney Animation project. They have rarely faltered in these respects. Disney smartly oriented itself towards a bilingual and Hispanic setting in Colombia, an undoubtedly growing part of its audience in 2021. I foresee many more movies akin to this in the future.

    Not worth it.
I think it's a vague animation, more like a copy of Moana with a touch of Frozen, in terms of story and songs. It immediately became clear to me that the creep Lin Manuel Miranda(who has only one way to create things) contributed to this, I mean Luisa is Maui and the song: Surface Pressure is just a bad copy of: You're Welcome in Moana. And then there's Bruno, we don't talk about Bruno why I don't know because it doesn't get much clear about Bruno, why they don't talk about him or why he left the family, why no one ever went looking for him and why it all of a sudden ok was that he came back?! Disney misses the mark with this movie for me. It's a lazy, uninspired, bad movie with too many characters in it that makes it a mess and you just don't get to know them and you don't understand a lot of choices they made like Dolores who goes straight with a guy she just met, very desperate, but also incomprehensible because he never broke up with Isabella. There are a lot of examples like this that make no sense. I don't like this movie neither would i recommend it to anyone.

    Too many songs
I know Disney has songs in their animated movies specially but this was ridiculous.

I wish someone would have posted how much of a musical this was I would've skipped it. Song after song after song 45 sec of dialogue and then song followed by another song and then the credits (with yes you guessed it another song) animation was great come on it's Disney After all!

My kids didn't care for it either.

I hope this review doesn't get taken down like my last one. I'm just trying to warn people about the abundance of songs that are in this movie so they don't waste their time like I did. If I would've known I wouldn't have watched.
