Discover the Enchanting World of Wolfwalkers: A Captivating Animated Masterpiece
I recently watched this film, and it is a masterpiece. The animation is breathtaking, and the story is captivating. The characters are well-developed, and the voice acting is top-notch. The film manages to balance humor, action, and heart-warming moments perfectly. The themes of friendship, family, and environmentalism are woven beautifully into the narrative. The music is also fantastic and adds to the overall magical atmosphere of the film. I found myself fully immersed in the world of Wolfwalkers and didn't want the movie to end. It is a movie that both children and adults can enjoy, and it's one of the best-animated films I've seen in recent years. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves animation, fantasy, or a good story. It's a 10 out of 10 from me!

    A WOLFIN' WE WILL GO...!
An Apple+ animated feature from 2020. Taking place in medieval times in Ireland, our heroine is a young girl, the scion of a noted hunter, hoping to follow in her father's footsteps especially since the land is now being ravaged by a roving band of wolves. Although the father wants her to do the opposite (become a scullery maid in their castle compound or tend to their home), she still continues in her new profession but unfortunately after being caught by a snare set in the woods, she gets bitten by an admittedly friendly wolf which causes her to see the wolf's true form, a young girl. Going back to the lair, we see the girl's mother is in a suspended animation state, stuck in human form. It turns out their change into wolf form happens when the human body sleeps allowing the wolf spirit to materialize which means the mother's wolf body is imprisoned somewhere in the castle which our heroine does confirm. What follows is a battle to free the trapped wolf & corral her own inner wolf (a long sequence finds her transforming into a wolf while she lies in slumber) as her father & importantly the Lord Protector want no such thing. Part of creators Tomm Moore & Ross Stewart Irish Folklore trilogy (following the excellent Secret of Kells & Song of the Sea, which I haven't seen yet), the film takes us back to the quaint time of 2D animation & how wondrous it can be when done right against a backdrop of traditions & beliefs which may not be as accessible to American eyes & ears but still a wonderful folklore lesson to be had nevertheless. Voices include Sean Bean, Maria Doyle Kennedy (from the Commitments), Simon McBurney (late of the cancelled Carnival Row Prime series) w/Honor Kneafsey & Eva Whittaker as the young women in dire wolf straits.

    Masterpiece of capital M
I can't recall the last time I had so much fun with an animated movie, it's just that good. The animation is unique and beautiful and very pleasant to the eye.

Voice acting is great, especially Mebh's VA.

The story is enchanting without being childish making it just as engaging to adults. This is rare with this type of media and generally hard to achieve.

Overall, this movie is criminally underrated and deserves all the love in the world because there was definietely love and passion put into this project. It's a great watch for children and adults alike which left me with a big 'Wow' at the end. Beautiful story everyone should watch.

    Raised by Wolves
An apple original picture WolfWalkers tells the story of a young English girl named Robyn who lives with her father in a settlement in medieval Ireland. The town's expansion is halted when a pack of wolfs terrorize the settlers resulting in Robyn. Father pursuing them. One day Robyn meets a girl among the wolves named Mebh who's a Wolfwalker. A Druid essentially with her mother lives among them, and channels magic to become Wolves in their sleep. The two of them develop a friendship with one another and everything seems good. Until One night Robyn finds herself turned into a wolf and becomes a Wolfwalker herself. All while the lord protector puts the squeeze on the region to drive the wolves out permanently. A lot of the time animation usually has a message that people primarily kids can take away from it. So Wolfwalkers isn't exactly the first to go with that original concept, it still manages to take its story and deliver not only a colorful film but also show the darker side of such elements. The themes of freedom and oppression are present throughout the movie. Right off the back, introduce how Robyn's father says how they're not exactly welcome here being English In Ireland and how Robyn is scoffed at it by the locals for being who she is. Combine that with the very Strict old totalitarian laws they have to abide by themselves orchestrated by the Lord protector of this town who's a fanatic. He makes a good villain he's basically like Frollo mixed with Radcliffe from Pocahontas. It's more for those reasons I felt that the chemistry between her and Mebh is even greater. Mebh is more easy-going she's not constrained by any rules and could just do as she, pleases. I also really liked Sean Bean as the father you see his kinda character in other animation features such as how to train your Dragon or brave strong tough guy he's not a bad guy but he just worries and cares for a kid. Even though right off the back he doesn't side with the girl with his daughter you know he's not a bad guy or you got understand his actions. The art itself is remarkably impressive given a very unique style to it. It gives the movie a more of a fantasy feel as to how the backgrounds are drawn in vivid colors. It looks like a child's folktale book brought to life, with the Celtic theme, I music is really good. Some of the creative angles used for certain perspectives give off these very trippy magic picture shots almost. As well as the great use of colors and lights to symbolize more somber lighthearted tones to the more dark and serious tones with such colors as red and blue.

    Wonderful story and beautiful animation
One of the best films of the year. A deep story, insightful for both adults and children. Psychedelic animation and beautiful music add to the charm of the story. I highly recommend it.
