Movie just so good for your inner child
The Mario movie is truly a colorful and joyful work that brings excitement and happiness to the audience. The film feels like a thrilling adventure, taking us back to our childhood with the beloved and familiar characters in the Mario world.

The story begins with Mario, an ordinary plumber, getting drawn into a mystical world as he tries to rescue Princess Peach from the evil Bowser. Mario is not alone in this adventure. Alongside him is the brave and supportive brother, Luigi, and Toad - a small, adorable but incredibly courageous character. These characters are vividly and familiarly portrayed, making the viewers feel both touched and delighted.

What makes the movie particularly appealing is its cheerful and light-hearted atmosphere. From the dynamic action scenes to the humorous dialogues, everything is crafted subtly and skillfully. One of the lines that impressed me the most is when Toad exclaimed, "I'm too cute to die." Indeed, Toad is very cute, and this line not only made the audience laugh but also showcased the cheerful and optimistic personality of this character.

The movie not only brings hearty laughs but also contains meaningful messages about friendship, courage, and unity. Mario and Luigi, despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges, always stand by each other and never give up. Mario's bravery and determination in facing dangers also provide valuable lessons for the viewers, especially children.

Another commendable aspect of the movie is its visuals. The scenes are executed with excellent special effects, vibrant and lively colors, from lush green forests, blazing volcanoes to sparkling cityscapes. Each frame is like a lively painting, making it hard for the audience to take their eyes off. Additionally, the music in the film is chosen and used skillfully, further enhancing the film's charm and allure.

I am also very impressed with how the film retains the essence and spirit of the original game. Familiar details such as obstacle courses, power-up mushrooms, and tense confrontations with the villains are all realistically and vividly recreated. This not only satisfies longtime fans of the game but also helps newcomers easily understand and love the Mario world.

It is undeniable that the Mario movie, released in 2023, has been a resounding success in providing a wonderful entertainment experience for the audience. With its captivating story, adorable characters, stunning visuals, and engaging music, the film is truly a meaningful gift for everyone, from children to adults. I am very happy and satisfied with this movie and will definitely watch it many more times.

Most faithful adaptation of the classic video game series
    The Super Mario Bros Movie

The Super Mario Bros Movie is absolute perfection as a video game adaptation. Yes, I am starting my review with that statement. I am old enough to have lived through the horrible 90s movie, and the cheesy but fun live action tv show. Starting the movie with that theme song as their plumbing commercial gave me all the nostalgia feels. I was 12 again and I just started singing along to a song I hadn't heard in 30 years.

The animation is so bright and vivid, and very colorful. The voice acting is very well done. There are so many references to all the video games as well. Plus: Peaches peaches peaches peaches peaches.

The plot is the usual, Bowser is trying to take over the mushroom kingdom because, of course, he's in love with Princess Peach. Hilarity and chaos ensue as Donkey Kong Country and Mario Kart elements are incorporated into the plot.

Luigi is underused, but at least he is next to the delightful emo blue star thing, haha. I need more of that in my life! There are so many characters, locations, abilities and banana peels in this movie, I can't praise it enough. I like to watch a movie, write about it, and move on, but this one I want to see it again, it was so much fun.

There's nothing really redeeming about it, however. It relies completely on nostalgia, the music from the games, and all the other elements in the games, and it works. I loved it.
