    Enjoyable watch with good music
As a non-Indian and completely ignorant about cricket, I found this an interesting and touching movie. It made me aware of the feelings of inferiority inflicted upon the Indian people by the English colonisers, and how the sports victory instilled pride again in the Indian hearts.

I didn't know any of the actors or the original team, so to me it was all fresh and new. I liked how the team members interacted with each other, teasing, helping, comforting each other. Making mistakes but also being kind-hearted and determined. It is clear from the film announcement that the team will win, but the players themselves don't know that. So you experience their feeling of already being defeated, of playing against all odds, thinking they cannot win but trying anyway. For a moment, I really thought I had misread the announcement and the West Indies were actually going to win.

I like that it is West against East Indies, the English are hardly there in this film. The West Indies are very strong and mean, but also show respect to the Indians, who are in a way their brothers in the struggle against the English.

A less successful part of the film, I think, is the role of Deepika Padukone. She is extremely beautiful, but the need for her appearance seems to be mostly to show that she and Ranveer Singh love each other very much in real life. As Kapil Dev's wife, she is rather unsupportive, bothering him for more tickets to the game and she even leaves the game when she thinks India is losing. She tears up her ticket while walking away so she can't even return when she learns they are now winning. 'Stupid woman,' is what I kept muttering to myself.

As an Arijit Singh fan, I was happy to suddenly hear his voice in the accompanying music. I like the music, although the repetition of Lehra Do together with flag waving made it bit too nationalistic to me.

Oh and I like the 'comic sidekicks', the fans who are driving in two cars to the game, and who throw energetic party's with drums, leading the crowd in exhilaration.

    Best cricket movie !!
1983 .... the year when India win on the world Cup for the first time ... An adventure that began with doubt and tension and ended with peaceful coexistence with everyone and an endless celebration . I just want to say .... hats for you creative director and also ranveer Singh.... finally after cirkus and A film about the issue of giving birth to girls, whose name I do not remember ... a movie that was amazing and I can't explain .. BTW I know that cirkus was after this movie ... but still .

The cast was creative .... it was super ... I just loved the soul of the team and the actors and how strong they acted in the movie .... all of them were amazing ... like no one is better than the other ... like I feeled they are a family together ... and I said how much is lucky the director....

And I can't explain how it was amazing and creative the way the director made this movie ... the scenes were great .. yes there was some Quick and incomprehensible shots, but believe me, for the benefit of the movie .... the way he showed the The events of the story and the spirit of cooperation with the story were very beautiful ....

The soundtracks and the makeup and side effects were amazing ... and the most thing I loved about the movie the way they planed for the makeup they were just like the real characters ... just like them .... it was like find the differences game in hard level between real character and the actor or the actress ....

To sum up , I just want to say that this movie is the best cricket movie I have ever watched... yes ms.dhoni was amazing also Jersey but this one it just made me cry and laugh and scream and evrything..... What a show...
Born in the mide 70s,i was fortunate to witness each of the legendary stalwarts of 83 playing, on the field. The movie filled me with so much emotions,I was in 7th heaven. The movie helmed by the accomplished Kabir Khan will be remembered for its attention to detail. I just loved the intro of Sir. Viv Richards, the Stuart Surridge bat,the jamming Carribeans.. A movie for every Indian..a celebration of a very young 37 year old India..

    Relive the joy
Down the memory lane it takes... Brings the goosebumps in us.... Everyone know what happened, but still the movie ties you to the end.... Small snippets of Original TV screens / Actual team enlightens the moment.... By watching movie, we could only imagine the sheer extent of Joy, Happiness and Proud of Indians in 1983... Superb acting by all (specially Ranveer as Kapil Dev), Perfect Script, dialogues and direction...
