    Great Music
This seemed to take a lot of highlights from his life and didn't allow you to connect with the character. There was No hard angle or tension whether it was with his band, music, political stance or racial struggle. Each scene was just fleeting leaving story disjointed. Great music of course but unfortunately it didn't hit the mark.

This was also a missed opportunity to feature Jamaican culture and history. Kudos to actor for being able to sing and staying true to the bob marley sound. But other than that this film was still half baked. There was a lack of focus on the direction and what to concentrate on. The man, or highlights. I am a huge Marley fan and this could have been epic but unfortunately the writing made it underwhelming.

    An Film Made for Nostalgia
This is a film that showcases artistically the life of a musician that have touched and continues to inspire a lot of people across the globe. I thought the cast accurately portrayed the roles they were given and blurred fiction and reality, a clear proof of Arts' ability to portray faultlessly an aspirational figure's capacity to open doors that many may consider invisible towards a sphere of existence that is yet to be lived. The cinematography was phenomenal, the costume perfectly displayed the 1970s style, and the music, foundation of this whole biopic, was of a quality that I will define no less than harmonic, and rythmic, the very signature of what rendered Bob Marley's style accessible, and sought-after by people universally. It is a production that will inspire, awaken, and stimulate within viewers the enthusiasm to thrive for righteousness despite setbacks, and the willingness to live with and for passion over fleeting possessions of our existence.

A WORTHY IF NOT REMARKABLE TALE OF THE MAN...!
From earlier this year comes a biopic on Bob Marley, the world's most renowned reggae artist who left us too soon in 1981. Essayed by Kinsley Ben-Adir (the villain of Secret Invasion) & taking place during a 3 or so year period after there was an attempt on his life at his Jamaican compound where he & some others were shot, Ben-Adir relocates to England to gather his thoughts as he preps to record his seminal recording of "Exodus". Back home the violence arose from the political race which was taking place & since Ben-Adir eschewed matters of state, declining to get involved, it opened him up to the drive-by but finding a safe space in Blighty, Ben-Adir recenters himself, preps the album & soon finds fans on the international circuit (we glimpse someone obviously aping Mick Jagger posing w/Ben-Adir for a photo) but while its intimated he wasn't the most loyal of spouses which wife Rita, played by Lashana Lynch, goes w/the flow until she doesn't & his manager, Anthony Welsh, was caught milking an African concert venue for more cash, Ben-Adir decides to return home to perform a restorative concert for peace to quell the masses which proved to be a rousing success. Blessed & shepherded by the Marley family, you can feel the film wanting to dig deeper into the man but since the focus is limited to a chapter of a many layered book, we deal w/what we got letting the music weave in & out of the narrative providing the best sounding soundtrack ever w/o even trying. If you want a deeper delve into the man, watch Kevin McDonald's titular 2012 doc to quench that particular thirst. Also starring Michael Gandolfini (James' son) playing a record exec & Top Boy's Micheal Ward as one Marley's assassins.
