A hidden gem. Excellent real story.
Concrete Cowboy is a 2021 American drama film directed by Ricky Staub and starring Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin. The film is based on the novel "Ghetto Cowboy" by Greg Neri and follows the story of Cole, a troubled teenager who is sent to live with his estranged father Harp in North Philadelphia, where he discovers the world of urban cowboys and their efforts to preserve the tradition of Black cowboys in the city.

The film begins with Cole being expelled from school and sent to live with his father Harp, who runs a stable for inner-city youth. Despite initial resistance, Cole becomes involved in the community of urban cowboys, who teach him the discipline and responsibility of horseback riding and the importance of preserving the tradition of Black cowboys. Along the way, he also learns about the struggles of the community and the challenges they face in the inner city.

As Cole becomes more involved in the community, he starts to understand the importance of the tradition and the role it plays in the lives of the urban cowboys. He also begins to bond with his father and the other members of the community, and becomes determined to help preserve the tradition.

The film is a powerful and emotional story that highlights the struggles of the inner city and the importance of tradition and community. The performances of Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin are powerful, and the film is well-directed and beautifully shot. It is a must-watch for those who are interested in stories of urban life and the importance of tradition and community.

Overall, the Concrete Cowboy is a powerful and emotional film that tells a compelling story of urban life and the importance of tradition and community. It is well-acted and directed, and is a must-watch for those interested in stories of inner-city life and the struggles of urban cowboys.

Sorry it is rated so low.
Really a good movie. Good acting. I'm impressed by the real Fletcher stable riders doing such a great job. Predictable but that's ok. The story is good. Would like to see another movie based more on the reality and history of the cowboys and what happened to them and the horses.

    Eh it was ok
The premise wasn't bad and the acting/visuals in this movie were phenomenal. However its about 30 minutes to long and bereft of anything really happening. It would pass for rainy day watch, but thats about it.
